23. Melopita
Melopita originated from the Greek island of Sifnos, it is often served in various cities of the country nowadays. It translates to honey pie and is traditionally served at Easter.
🥧 Read a book where a character lives on an island or lives in a city or where the authors initials can be found in EASTER,
24. Shepards Pie
Shepherd's pie, cottage pie, or in its French version hachis Parmentier is a savory dish of cooked minced meat topped with mashed potato and baked. The two English terms have been used interchangeably since they came into use although some writers insist that a shepherd's pie should contain lamb or mutton and cottage pie should have beef.
🥧Read a book with either a sheep or cow on the cover, (Show cover) or where a character eats mashed potatoes or a character who is a writer.
25. Crostata
A crostata is an Italian baked tart or pie. Traditionally, a crostata consisted of a base, usually three layers, of friable dough "flavored with clarified fat and butter". Today, short crust pastry is used instead. It is differentiated from a torta by its filling: a crostata has an inconsistent chunky filling.
🥧Read a book where a character is Italian or read a book that is short (less than 150 pages) or a third in a series.
26. Steak and Kidney Pie
Steak and kidney pie is a popular British dish. It is a savory pie filled principally with a mixture of diced beef, diced kidney (which may be beef, lamb, veal, or pork) and onion.
🥧 Read a book that has a dish on the cover (Show cover). Read a book with the word kidney in the text (Give a partial sentence and page/loc #) or where the authors initials can be found in STEAK.
27. Blueberry Pie
Blueberry pie has a blueberry filling. Blueberry pie is readily made because it does not require pitting or peeling of fruit. It usually has a top and bottom crust. The top crust can be circular, but the pie can also have a crumble crust or no top crust. Blueberry pies are often eaten in the summertime when blueberries are in season in the Northern hemisphere.
🥧Read a book with a blue cover (Show cover), or with a circular item on the cover (Show cover) or a book set in summer.
28. Borek or Burek
Burek is a family of pies found in the Balkans, Middle East and Central Asia. The pastry is made of a thin flaky dough such as filo with a variety of fillings, such as meat, cheese, spinach, or potatoes. A borek may be prepared in a large pan and cut into portions after baking, or as individual pastries. They are usually baked but some varieties can be fried. Borek is sometimes sprinkled with sesame or nigella seeds, and it can be served hot or cold.
🥧Read a book set in Asia or with a fried food on the cover (Show cover) or where a character drinks something hot.
29. Kvrguša
Kvrguša is a traditional Bosnian specialty consisting of a layer of dough and chicken pieces. The base of kvrguša is prepared with a combination of flour, eggs, and milk. The combination of flour and milk is poured into round pans, and the dish is finished off with the addition of various raw or previously fried chicken cuts, such as thighs and legs, which are placed on the top. The pie is slowly baked until the meat is done and the dough develops a golden, crispy crust. Immediately after baking, kvrguša is topped with sour or clotted cream.
🥧Read a book with a chicken on the cover (Show cover) or with legs on the cover (Show cover) or where the first letter of each title word can be found in KVGUSA. (Two word minimum).
30. Shoofly Pie
Shoo-fly pie has been described as a crumb cake baked in a pie crust. The primary ingredients of the filling are molasses, brown sugar, and water. Serving the cake in pie crust made it easier for people to eat it with their hands in the 19th century
🥧Read a book that is 19th in a series or with water on the cover (Show cover) or where the authors initials can be found in SHOOFLY.
