M. (elder_prince) | 78 comments It hit theaters a few months back, but I missed the chance to catch it then, and it was no longer showing by the time I made up my mind to watch it. I'm guessing it'll be available on streaming platforms pretty soon, though.

It looks like you can buy it on places like Prime/Apple TV and YouTube but I would anticipate it being available to rent fairly soon.

Yes I can't wait to be able to rent it right now they are charging a lot on tv.

Kandice | 4387 comments I saw it when it was first released. It was ok, but I really think it would be a more effective movie if it were a quiet, no gore, psychological thriller like the short story. The movie was way too dark, and I mean that literally. They needed some more lighting!

Yup, I noticed it on Google Movies, over 15 bucks. I've always been puzzled by the idea of buying a digital version of a movie. You're locked into watching it on a specific platform, with a mandatory internet connection - it feels pretty limiting. And to top it off, it's often quite pricey. I mean, you can catch a good movie in a theater for less, and you get that big, immersive screen experience, plus popcorn thrown in for good measure.

Some services want a purchase price for a movie even higher than $15. On Redbox, I have seen them go for $25. I have never understood buying a movie either. Even if I love a movie, I can't really think of buying it for that kind of price, I doubt I would get my money's worth. It would be cheaper just to rent it, you get a movie for 24 hours if you watch it and up to 30 days if you don't watch it right away.

I hate when movies are literally too dark. I'm not sure what the thinking is behind that when the viewers really can't see what is going on.

Maria Koch | 27 comments i loved it. I liked that there were scenes that literally took the book script (or at least were pretty similar to it). of course its not the same story, but i mean its a 5 page short story so everyone should know there is no way THAT got turned into a full movie XD i liked it.

Back in my kiddo days, I was a movie maniac. I had this stash of VHS tapes, each jam-packed with 3-4 movies, and I'd play them on a loop. But now? Watch a movie once, and that's probably the last time I'll ever see it, even if it's an absolute masterpiece.

But hey, the movies from the 1980s were like the champions of re-watchability, don't you think?

Absolutely, even up to the 90's (or so I think). There are a number of movies I could watch over and over again. In the last decade or so, there aren't many (if any) movies I could do that with.

Panda | 48 comments Hulu currently has the movie.

I noticed it a couple of days ago and immediately put it on.

I felt that they did a really good job on it. Vivien Lyra Blair, the little girl who plays Sawyer and you may recognize from 'Bird Box', does a really great job of portraying a slew of emotions! Marin Ireland, who plays Rita, is also fantastic. I have seen her in a handful of roles here and there and she is always good. I think that she really shone as Rita, and it left me wanting to see more of her.

I totally recommend checking out 'The Boogeyman' if you haven't seen it yet.

Marin Ireland is one of my very favorite audiobook readers.

Rafael da Silva (morfindel) | 23 comments I agree about the Boogeyman. It was quite good. Regarding King's adaptations, this is quite rare.
