I'm already 30% in.....liking it.

I am completely binging this book---am at the 75% mark and will likely finish today. I want to know what's going on!

Kristen Fort | 101 comments If I didn't have a million other things to do, I probably would binge it. But so far, I'm 50-something pages in. I love the illustrations. The Anya illustration so far gives me Somara vibes from The Ring; she's so creepy! :-)

Ummi Farhana (ufvrhvnv) The drawings are definitely giving me the creeps!

Knowledge seeker | 30 comments the drawings add more beauty to the book

Pat of Rocks | 52 comments Good start so far! On Chapter 3. Feels like a "Sliding Doors" version of The Housemaid, had Millie picked a better family to move in with. Was not expecting illustrations and can't wait to see how they continue to aid the story.

Knowledge seeker | 30 comments reading the hidden pictures after the housemaid may be confusing, it took me some time to focus on the new story and put aside Nina and Millie

It is interesting that we have had 3 maid-related books this year. Add to that, I am currently reading The Mystery Guest (book 2 in the Molly the Maid series).

We will try to pic a non-maid focused book next month ;)

Marie I started this story. I am about 13% into it so far. The drawings are freaking me out. lol I think they are freaking me out more than the story so far. lol I have to say too that I love the writing style of the author. This story is flowing for me. :)

Knowledge seeker | 30 comments The beginning of the story is much alike the story of "The housemaid", a young woman tries to start a new life as a babysitter .
The employers as well as the employee have their share of secrets.
Religious aspects are present, and that's what I liked the most, we become thirsty for spirituality in novels in an atheist era .
What I like about this story is the easy language it was written with, the big determination of Millory, the main character, to help the kid Teddy and to solve the unsolved mystery, the supportive community to people who want to get clean.
What I disliked about it is the sharp transition from the twist to the solution, I still didn't digest how Millory did to pierce the mystery.
It's not a perfect novel, but still a very good one, I recommend it

Marinka | 27 comments I’m 79% in, I like how sorry is written, it’s easy to follow without any excessive details, I’m enjoying it so far. Will be done with it tomorrow!

I agree, i just hit the 30% mark and so far it reads like a regular mystery thriller except for the pictures... they take the creepiness factor way up.

I feel the same way - lots of suspense/mystery but the pictures make it feel like something leaning more toward horror/paranormal.

Knowledge seeker | 30 comments I've done with the novel

Marinka | 27 comments Just finished! 😊 it was fun and easy read!

Marie I hit the 45% mark earlier today and it has escalated into the creepy zone!

Carol Finished reading. Liked the intrigue of the
paranormal side of the art work.
Good read.

Michael J. (michaeljclarke) | 161 comments I started this Thursday evening during a two-day trip to meet some old high school friends. I think I would have finished this if I was at home, and had more free time.
It's an easy read, relatively fast paced, good flow, creepy story and creepy drawings to support it. I have a feeling there will be some twists before this reaches the end.
I liked the little twist with the "in case of emergency" unexplained aid in the glove compartment. That didn't turn out as I imagined. I have a feeling there is a different twist related to one or the other of the Maxwell couple. We shall see. Currently at Chapter 10.

Angela Mcvey | 4 comments Wow! What a surprise! The ending was NOT what I expected, but the author was definitely building toward it all along.

Marie I loved this book! Finished it earlier this morning! The book had lots of twists and turns - wasn't expecting it to go the route it did. Lots of surprises in the last part of the story.

Glad to see people enjoying this one :)

Saar The Book owl | 19 comments At the moment I'm at chapter 5 and I'm enjoying it so far. Nothing much happening, but it has the underlying dark vibe with it. The pictures are definately a good addition to the story.

Saar The Book owl | 19 comments I'm nearing the end of the book. It has been a long while since I've read a book that was so compelling.

Kristen Fort | 101 comments I just finished!

Lisa | 9 comments Binged this one in pretty much a day. Definitely a page turner. Have to sort my feelings out to actually review it.

Tiffany (herbtiff) | 188 comments I've been enjoying things read. I did need a break from suspense reading so I'm a little behind.
