Hi everyone hope you are all well. I am a British writer who has often been tempted to respond to the question 'can you recommend anything by a British writer?' Then Werner kindly guided me to this discussion group. The Ghost of Captain Hinchliffe is a novel based on the true story of a British war pilot (WW1) and a Scottish Heiress who disappear whilst attempting to be the first to fly the Atlantic from east to west and collect the 10,000 pound prize. (The pilot, Hinchliffe would receive the money, Elsie Mackay would further the cause of the Women's Movement). What happens next is captivating. It certainly captivated me whilst researching and writing this story and the tragedy of Airship R101 story for many years. Years, which I must say, have been fulfilling.
