A Haiku is a form of Japanese poem,
I read about it in my English classroom.
I will get a copy tomorrow, but will be able to start only by the 15th . Luffy 's remark is encouraging . Oh , Agatha Christie after all - got to be interesting and exciting! There are 7 of us reading and perhaps more will join in . It's going to be fun !
By the way has anyone watched the 2022 movie version?I had watched the older filmversion starring Peter Ustinov
Yes I tried to watched that badly directed movie but,But I can't promise you I'll watch the director's cut.
Luffy (Oda's Version) wrote: "See you later Austin, my good sire,Gotta read Interview With The Vampire."
Hmm, another vampire read.
I recommend Dark Water (2002)It is the scariest horror movie I've seen,
The film has a small budget too,
And it is the most impressed I've been,
with a horror film.
Austin wrote: "Has anyone noticed that today is Friday the 13th? And that too in horror month."You will never see me believe,
A superstitious turn,
And I can't usually give,
cred to superstition.
I started with the book.Reading an Agatha Christie novel after so many years is nostalgic. I really like her style of introducing all the characters in the first few chapters.
Started with the book. Had read it in the past but have pretty much forgotten all of the plot line except for the ending!
Oh my God , I had a real tough time trying to get an ecopy ! Some technical glitch , which I just couldn't figure out . Actually , I was on the point of posting a comment here , explaining my difficulty in getting an ebook . Then , quite suddenly, I thought of an alternative route of getting an ebook... and , gosh , I managed to succeed ! I am really thrilled ! . Death on the Nile is a mystery book , and there's not so much fun trailing far behind ( I wasn't sure when the problem would get resolved ) . So , yay , I will start tomorrow!!
Don't worry, Savita. I will be reading the book slowly as I need to prepare for my next Visa interview. I will try to finish the book by the 31st of October.

Austin , all the best for your interview preparation !
Austin, here is some advice for you. Hope you benefit from it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRhZd...
Arpit wrote: "I'll be joining soon. Will be reading an Agatha Christie after a long long time."Me too... I read many Agatha Christie mysteries during my undergrad days, and then my craze shifted to Sydney Sheldon and Sherlock Holmes.
But I can't recall the plot of any of them. Hence this is a fun experience again.
I just started rereading.

Thanks Luffy, looks interesting. I will watch it by today and share my comments.
I like it that the book has a sprinkling of French phrases here and there, as I am learning French for 1 year now. I am able to understand them to some extent, I mean easier sentences. Is Hercule Poirot by any chance French?

Thank you Savita. This is the right kind of book for me to read at this juncture. I would have struggled with a bigger or more complicated reading. More time consuming those kind of books and suitable for reading when I have more time to spare.

True, (view spoiler).
I think Agatha Christie had great potential for writing romance novels.
Austin wrote: "I like it that the book has a sprinkling of French phrases here and there, as I am learning French for 1 year now. I am able to understand them to some extent, I mean easier sentences. Is Hercule P..."Yes , I think so . In Poirot the t is silent , because it's a French word .

Hadn't considered the location. By the way Hercule Poirot is based on another fictional detective. Link below.

Austin wrote: "I like it that the book has a sprinkling of French phrases here and there, as I am learning French for 1 year now. I am able to understand them to some extent, I mean easier sentences. Is Hercule P..."Poirot is Belgian, and speaks French
Prosenjit wrote: "Austin wrote: "I like it that the book has a sprinkling of French phrases here and there, as I am learning French for 1 year now. I am able to understand them to some extent, I mean easier sentence..."Oh , I see . Belgium is the north east neighbor of France .
Anjali wrote: "Chapter 7..The plot is unfolding.
*Spoiler alert*
Joanna is jealous of Linnet's wealth and freedom and Linnet of Jackie's love. Some illicit relations going forward. "
You're way ahead , Anjali ! I am only on page 8 at present and enjoying every word !
Chapter 1 ☆☆Beware Spoilers (view spoiler) ☆☆ Agatha Christie makes some very good and interesting observations on human characters every now and then .
Savita wrote: "Anjali wrote: "Chapter 7..The plot is unfolding. "
You're way ahead, Anjali! I am only on page 8 at present and enjoying every word !"
No no, I was on Chapter 1 part 7 I think.
I am reading slowly, now at chapter 3.
Chapter 4.Poirot's analogy of Lennet's previous action is spot on!
"You have heard of King David and of the rich man who had many flocks and herds and the poor man who had one ewe lamb—and of how the rich man took the poor man’s one ewe lamb."
His psychoanalysis of Lennet's feelings is also interesting.

I see , yes , each chapter is divided into parts , and I also thought initially that the parts represented chapters .
Anjali wrote: "Chapter 3.So many new characters. And everyone seems to be going to Egypt for some reason!"
I do hope the characters are not too many . It becomes difficult to keep track , and also make a fair guess as to who is the culprit .
Chapter 7A classic Agatha Christie novel with lots of characters and an enjoyable build-up to the plot . I have watched the movie but thankfully remember very little of it .(view spoiler)

Oh , you've already reached the actual chapter 7 , not part 7 ? Will open your spoiler later then .
