SOLVED: Adult Fiction > SOLVED. Fantasy series with female YA lead (not YA genre). The story revolves around magic created by use of a type of crystal (I think). There are blade singers, spell weavers and a group of desert people who can use sand to make illusion magic. [s]

Stephanie Glover | 2 comments I'm sorry I can't give more specific details. It's been a number of years since I've read the books (at least 5), so I only remember random details.

Fantasy/adventure/romance series set in a traditional fantasy/almost steampunk world with female lead. Her name begins with the letter E. Written by male author. Audiobooks have male narrator with older sounding voice. The heroine has a brother that is a blade singer. She sells flowers at the market, but wants to join a magic academy. Her mother was murdered, I believe her name was Catherine. I believe the ruler was mining crystals that had magical properties. There are also spell weavers and a desert society that has the magical ability of illusion by manipulating sand. She has a romantic relationship with their Raja. He falls in love with her, but she is in love with someone else. Her mentor posed as an old man who drove a wagon pulled by metallic and clanky cog wheel oxen.
