How Am I Suppose To Start This Series?

Can someone who read the series please explain to me what book I'm supposed to start on? I've just gone through like 10 different Anne of Green Gables books all by the same author that were supposed to be for the first book and I'm kinda confused. Also, which books to read after that? Thank you :)
