07. A book with a pronoun in the title
Weirdly, I have a lot of titles with “we” but no other pronouns on my list of potential reads for 2024. If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio
The Reckless Oath We Made by Bryn Greenwood
The Secrets We Kept by Lara Prescott
Things We Lost in the Fire by Mariana Enríquez
We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter
The World That We Knew by Alice Hoffman
Things We Do in the Dark I’m also reading I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer
My chosen 3 options for this prompt are:The Wife Between Us
These Is My Words: The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine, 1881-1901
The Pearl That Broke Its Shell
I have a few options. The ones I like the best are If I Survive You by Jonathan Escoffery, I'm Waiting for You and Other Stories by Kim Bo-young and They Were Counted by Miklós Bánffy. Some other options: Don't You Know There's a War On? by Avi, Seven Kinds of People You Find in Bookshops, Do You Remember Being Born?, We the Living, The City We Became
I didn't notice many books with pronouns in their titles though I did look very hard. One of my goals is next year is to read books I already own, so this seemed the perfect spot for We by Yevgeny Zamyatin.
I didn't do much searching for this, I had Her Majesty's Royal Coven by Juno Dawson on my priority TBR for 2024, so it was an easy choice.
I am trying to pull just from my TBR for this year's challenge, and I am sticking to he/him, she/her, they/them. I have ten possibilities: The Things She's Seen by Ambelin Kwaymullina
The Clothes They Stood Up In by Alan Bennett
And Yet They Were Happy by Helen Phillips
He Shall Thunder in the Sky by Elizabeth Peters
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling
When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir by Patrisse Khan-Cullors
Where the Light Gets In: Losing My Mother Only to Find Her Again by Kimberly Williams-Paisley
Never Caught: The Washingtons' Relentless Pursuit of Their Runaway Slave, Ona Judge by Erica Armstrong Dunbar
Pieces of Her by A.C. Mims
Undivided: A Muslim Daughter, Her Christian Mother, Their Path to Peace by Patricia Raybon
I'm going to read All You Have to Do Is Call by Kerri MaherThis is a novel based on the true story of the Jane Collective - a "safe space" for Women in the early 70's.
My current most likely choices for this prompt are:How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu
My Last Name by Eric M. Schumacher
The Heat Will Kill You First: Life and Death on a Scorched Planet by Jeff Goodell (went to his lecture on this book, and my husband is reading it now - his first time putting tabs on pages...)
Given that this is a pronoun focused prompt, and my pronouns are she/her, I feel a bit disappointed that all my top choices are written by male authors — as are almost all the ones I've even flagged as possibilities. Maybe I'll find one that I really want to read that's written by a she/her?
Far too many to choose from...and that's just from my physical books! This is far from all of my possibles:- Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton
- I'm Not Scared by Niccolò Ammaniti
- I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
- You Will Be Safe Here by Damian Barr
- I Am Not Your Baby Mother by Candice Brathwaite
- Where They Were Missed by Lucy Caldwell
- The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo
- The Secrets She Keeps by Helen Cross
- Where You Find It by Janice Galloway
I'm planning to read I Must Betray You. I chose this book because I haven't read anything by the author before and am interested in reading about the history of Romania. I am really enjoying You: The Story: A Writer's Guide to Craft Through Memory because of the amount of thought that the author puts into her writing. I am looking forward to reading her books the most in the new year.
I have just finished reading: His Majesty's Dragon as the first book of the year - really love this series so far!
Actually i got that wrong! that’s for a book that is not a novel.I actually read When We Were Very Young
Similar enough
For this prompt, I read:"I Heard You Paint Houses", Updated Edition: Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran & Closing the Case on Jimmy Hoffa by Charles Brandt - 4* - My Review
I finished How to Be Yourself: Quiet Your Inner Critic and Rise Above Social Anxiety by Ellen Hendriksen and was happy to see that it fit in this prompt. It's a short self-help book on anxiety. Gave it 4 stars. Here's my 2024 ATY list
I read a mystery by P.D. James called Cover Her Face. It's her first Adam Dalgliesh novel. I rated it 4*
Did you know there are more than 100 pronouns? I didn't. Here's a link to the full list.https://www.thefreedictionary.com/Lis...
I read:
Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? by Ed GormanBIO: Title has multiple pronouns
REJECT: A book with a divided, or split, cover

TASK #7 ~ A book with a pronoun in the titleMy 2024 plan is to "not plan."
BOOK 1 ~ I work at a big library and I'm just going to go with the first book that appeals to me that crosses my returns desk.
BOOK 2 ~ And I'm challenging myself to work on clearing out my old TBR shelf this year, so I'm going to read the dustiest "fits the prompt" book on my TBR shelf as well.

BOOK 1
I Have Some Questions for You by Rebecca MakkaiRead ~ 2.4.24
Pages ~ 352
Because ~ I and You are both pronouns
Review ~ ★★★
I liked this story, but it felt very fragmented with its short chapters. I liked the podcast angle concept though.

BOOK 2
Remember Me? by Sophie KinsellaRead ~ 2.1.24
Pages ~ 450
Because ~ ME is a pronoun
Review ~ ★★★
Cute little contemporary fiction story, which was a nice break from the heavy reading that I did in January.
I read The Death of Us. It started out kind of slow but ended up be overall enjoyable. I would recommend:
His & Hers
The Lies We Told
All Her Little Secrets
A Man and His Cat, Vol. 1
The Reckless Oath We Made
I read Scrooge Meets His Match : A Twist on A Christmas CarolA retelling of the Dickens original with a romantic twist. A very easy read but a bit twee and sanctimonius even as a religious person myself I dislike the thrusting of religion " god fearing" hell and damnation into contemporary novels
I’ve had https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... on my #TBR list for awhile now so I’m going to read this one next week.
I actually ended up changing my book for this one, and read I'm a Fan by Sheena Patel which was my first real 5 star of the year!
I went deep on my TBR for this prompt reading I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. I am never sure why some books languish on my TBR while I ready others as soon as I add them. This was an enjoyable read and glad to have finally read it.
I'm doing the challenge three times. Once with fiction, once with non-fiction, and once with picture books.I've finished pronoun in the title for all three.
My Real Children by Jo Walton
The Museum of Whales You Will Never See: And Other Excursions to Iceland's Most Unusual Museums by A. Kendra Greene
Sometimes I Like to Curl Up in a Ball byVicki Churchill
I ended up reading He Shall Thunder in the Sky by Elizabeth Peters. It is the 12th book in the Amelia Peabody series, and I loved it! It has been a hard month, so this was a fantastic escapist read for me.

There is no pronoun in your book's title. Maybe you posted this in the wrong thread?
Pronoun "Me"
✔ - 11Mar24Me and Earl and the Dying Girl – Jesse Andrews – ZERO stars
Juvenile humor (mostly bathroom and bodily functions). Not a single interesting character. Not much plot. A complete waste of time, IMHO.

I read Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret., part of my attempt to read classic US children's/YA books. I also read Nurturing Your Autistic Young Person: A Parent’s Handbook to Supporting Newly Diagnosed Teens and Pre-Teens.I was too old for Are you there... when it first came out. I think I would have found it a help at the time, although I was bit taken aback by M's assertion that periods wouldn't hurt - I would have felt somewhat betrayed by that!
The second was a book focusing on autistic girls, but also giving explanations of general behaviour and helpful ways of supporting the young person. It helped me better understand one of my grandchildren.
I'm now moving my first book to #50 ( I misread a PopSugar prompt, and needed somewhere to fit a book in). I've never read Manga, so gave it a go with Until I Love Myself: The Journey of a Nonbinary Manga Artist, Vol. 1. A grim story about sexual harassment at work, with some hope at the end - there's a sequel. The fact that graphics were used rather than text, made it easier to digest and I think powerful, but I did find the layout a bit confusing.

It was slightly updated, I don't remember what year.
The book I chose for this prompt
short and sweet review: 3.0
This was a easy read. Will I read it or suggest it to someone else, seriously doubt it. This book was more on a personal level. This book was a lot of poems.
I read When We Lost Our Heads by Heather O'Neill, a saucy take on Montreal's feminist movement at the end of the 19th century. I liked, but didn't love the novel, mostly because it needed some serious editing.
