Personally, I’ve always struggled to work with book structure, but as I’m in the progress of drafting the first book I hope to publish, I do hope to follow a structure, at least loosely. My only problem is that I’m struggling to fit the story into a proper structure. The best thing I’ve found for myself is a 7-act structure, which goes backstory/setup, catalyst, big event, midpoint, crisis/low point, climax, and realization. I have a feeling that perhaps the nature of the conflict in my book- man versus self- might have something to do with my struggle to fit it in, especially when it comes to a climax. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice?
