Hey there, I currently moderate another group (non-LGBTQIAP+) on Goodreads and wanted to start and grow my own group. So many groups seem to be dwindling or no longer hosting monthly group reads, which is primarily why I'm a part of groups. I hope it's not a dying trend...
I'm 41 years old and a single dog dad. I work from home, primarily in IT-related roles.
My favorite genres include dystopian, romance, mystery/thrillers, and memoirs/autobiographies. Lately, I've been making an effort to diversify my reading interests. I'm not one to have clear-cut favorites when it comes to books, music, or movies, but if I had to pick, I'd say my favorite author is TJ Klune, and my favorite movie is Erin Brockovich.
Feel free to ask if there's anything else you'd like to know!

Hi. I am a member of the Berlin Queer Writers Circle, a Zen practitioner, amateur figure skater and queer activist.Inspired by a family story, my nesest novel, Make the Dark Night Shine is a love letter from a father to the daughter he never met. In 1919, Kenzo Uchida and his partner Mitsu arrive in Constantinople to open the new Japanese Consulate. Kenzo meets Elisa, a feisty Ukrainian cigarette girl in a nightclub and she becomes his consort to hide his gay relationship while in Europe. The unlikely trio begin an adventure in the decadence of post-war Paris until disaster strikes. Returning to the growing militarism in Japan, Kenzo finds an unexpected path in Zen Buddhism. Yet no teachings prepare him for the revelations to come — about his life, his loves, and the events around him. On the eve of WWII, he discovers that he has a daughter living with Elisa in New York. He leaves the monastery on a perilous mission to promote peace with a secret plan to reunite with his daughter Nina. Cinematic in scope, this novel lyrically captures the world on the brink of war. As Kenzo builds — and fights for — his chosen family, larger forces threaten all. Sweeping, meditative, and achingly beautiful, Make the Dark Night Shine explores the many worlds a life can inhabit, and the hidden worlds we find in ourselves.
Hi Jeff I’m Ken. I also work from home. Dog dad of 2 with my fiancé. Also wfh in customer service. Live in New Jersey. Favorite book I lean towards the perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. It was always a book that had a lasting impact on me. Can’t wait to meet and so discuss books with you guys.
Hello! I’m Marcos. I’m 29 years old and from New Mexico. I’ll read pretty much any genre as long as it’s fiction. My favorite book is Peter Pan! I’ve loved it ever since I was a child. My current favorite authors are Brandon Sanderson, Z.S. Diamanti, and K.D. Edwards.
Hi, all, I'm Knox. I'm pushing 40, married with three kids, and just getting my start as an indie horror author. I'm featured in two anthologies that are already out (HorrorScope Volume 3 & Trans Rites: An Anthology of Genderfucked Horror) and one releasing in December (Doors of Darkness). I'm also working on my own short story collection. When it comes to reading, I'll give anything a fair shot if it manages to spark my curiosity, but I do tend to be disinterested in fantasy and action/adventure. The only things that I consciously steer clear of as much as possible are high fantasy and splatterpunk. As far as favourites go, I feel like my preferences are still in the middle of rearranging themselves after starting Gender Affirming HRT. Horror is still riding high atop that list, though. My favourite authors are Jack Kerouac, Patricia Highsmith, Oscar Wilde, and Andrew Joseph White.
Hey all!! 👋🏻My name is Waylon, a young 46 y/o. I live in Dallas, where I own a PR firm. I’ve just refound my love for reading, and I find myself wondering into bookstores every weekend. I travel a lot, and the minute that ai land anywhere, the first thing that I want to do is find the bookstores.
I’m really starting to step outside of my comfort zone. For years, I would stick to almost exclusively non-fiction - biographies, etc. but give really dived into fiction. I’m a big fan of dark academia, anything suspenseful and full of who-did-it moments. I’m searching for some awesome MM romance books, and an hoping that this is the place to do it!!
I look forward to getting to know everyone! 😁
Hi all! My name is Frank, I’m 32, and live in Denver. I’m an environmental engineer and read probably way too much :) Excited for this new group!
Hey there! I'm Edward, a 36 y/o school counselor and teacher from Barcelona. I love reading, specially thriller and historic novels, but for the past years all I have read is YA books of all kinds: thrillers (including the ones with spooky vibes), distopic series, romance, fantasy (I started reading a bit of this genre recently) and, thanks to my wife, LGBTIQ+ books (she absolutely adores cowboys and sports players M/M books and we are both Heartstopper hardcore fans).I'm excited for this new group and to meet new people and new books :)
Hi! ❤️My name is Lydia. She/They/Theirs. I'm not very good at talking about myself. But I am an amateur author. I am currently still in school but I try to write as often as I can. I would love to publish my own book(s) someday. I love that online is a place where I can be myself and discuss books and other topics that I feel passionate about. Thank you for making a space that is open to anyone and everyone.
Hi all!My name is Jovan. I'm 43 and a biologist turned audiobook proofer (long story lol). I'm an eclectic reader that enjoys a nerdy niche book as much as a ridiculously bombastic fantasy.
Some of my favorite books as a kid were Stephen King's The Stand and Misery, Jane Eyre and The Hobbit. As an adult a few are The Secret Lives of Church Ladies by Deesha Philyaw, Forget the Alamo by Bryan Burrough, Lost Boy by Christina Henry and The Power by Naomi Alderman but most are series like KD Edwards' The Tarot Sequence and Hailey Turner's Soulbound.

I don’t want to mentions books because it would take me a whole day just to name a few. Besides reading I like to play video games and paint. Glad to be part of this group
Hi, my name is Felix and I’m 23 and work in an office role in the UK. My favourite book has to be Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. Hello, and thanks for the invite! My name is Landon, and I am a Registered Nurse that works in behavioral health with geriatric (older) patients. I love what I do for a career, and only working 3 nights a week makes it easy for me to do what I also love: reading.
I am a single, open gay man that lives in Mississppi. Yes, life is tough. LOL. I try and make the best of it though. I am 26 years old, and I am an Aquarius. We are always attacked in memes for zodiac content, and to be honest, we are attacked because we deserve it because they are usually very accurate.
I mainly read thrillers and horror, but I also enjoy a good LGBTQ+ romance every now and then. Even hetero romance is sometimes enjoyable. LOL.
I have always enjoyed watching movies and tv, but one thing that is great about reading is how you can picture a scene how you see it. When a movie is shown, everyone sees the same thing. I love that about books and how different interpretations and views come from them.
Fun facts about me below...
Favorite author: Stephen King
Favorite book: Misery by Stephen King
Favorite book character: Anne Wilkes from Misery
Favorite movie: Misery and Dolores Claiborne
Favorite song: "Whore" by In This Moment
Favorite band: In This Moment
Favorite solo artist: Taylor Swift (do not judge me)
I feel similarly attacked by zodiac memes. It's like they only want to point out the worst parts of being a Pisces. Doom. LMAOLandon :) wrote: "Hello, and thanks for the invite!

Hi everyone,My name is Arnold Miles. I'm a gay man living in England, and I am on goodreads to promote my own book but mainly to read more LGBTQIAP+ fiction.
I currently fall asleep reading a lot of non-fiction, but I want to read more fiction and this feels a good place to boost me doing that.
My ebook/audiobook will be out in June 2024 and it's called Special Delivery. As a gay man living alone, Tom's monotonous day takes an unexpected turn when straight delivery driver Matt arrives at his door. Matt is grappling with the meaning of life, while Tom finds himself grappling with the meaning of Matt.
I don't know that I have a favourite book and author, but the book I always return to is the one that first knocked me back in a meaningful way and that's "Station Eleven" by Emily St. John Mandel.
I also want to provide and read a lot more genuinely English and regional English experiences than I have read in my life so far. Hoping to find that here and getting to know some of you.
Arnold
