Halloween plans?

Halloween is not a big thing in Germany. Last year we got two groups of children asking for candy. The year before only one group. Maybe this year we get three? That week schools are closed…. So, I don’t know my son and I are thinking about going away to a spa hotel for families. On the other hand, we might just stay home for the week.
I will definitely have my 24 hour marathon and watch horror movies all day long.

24-hour marathon of horror movies. Wow, sounds neat. I've never tried that myself even. Any particular movies lined up?
Some suggestions:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
The Hills Have Eyes
The Ring
The Grudge
Barbarian
Cobweb
Sinister
Us
Get Out
Richard wrote: "I've never tried that myself even. Any particular movies lined up?"The closest to my heart are the classics I watched when growing up:
The Omen
The Exorcist
Pet Cemetery
Then I also pick whatever is new on Netflix, and for free or at least for rent on Amazon.
I will definitely rewatch some of the ones that have scared me like Annabelle. The Conjuring, Paranormal Activity.
And, because I am still a 15 year old in my heart: The Lost Boys…
Gonna take the girls around the neighborhood, oldest is a creepy doll and youngest will be a dragon. I at least hope they can still trick-or-treat. Forecast for that day is rainy with a high of 58 😬 it’s rare we actually get a chilly Halloween here in tx lol

@Richard we drove up to the Canadian border in May I believe? I’ve never been that far north and I was like, “ITS MAY! Why is it still so cold” 😂 my husband absolutely loves the cold weather and has been up north a lot while serving. I will say it’s beyond beautiful in Wyoming/Montana/colorado
We are going to have 46 degrees F (8 Celsius) and it’s going to be rainy. My son and I decided we are going 4 days to Stuttgart and just go shopping during the day and go to the pool the rest of the time.
Halloween night at Castle Carlile was a success. Oldest was so excited to go trick or treating again and youngest had her first hallowed 😊 I never knew that Halloween was so much more fun when you have little ones to share it with ❤️ next year we’ll have one more to dress up and I’m so excited

Last year I did a voodoo tiki party for Halloween.I carved a tiki out of an old log. The mouth was open, and had a chimney drilled down from the top. The eyes had bores at a downward angle so when I lit a fire in the mouth, it lit up the eyes. I even threw in a few salts to add colored flames.
I made some tiki inspired finger foods, and of course tiki drinks. With the addition of some tiki torches, voodoo tiki party music, and appropriate movies on the backyard screen, it was a hit.
So, I've decided to do a repeat performance. And I think I've found an upgrade for some of the tiki torches.

What do y'all think?
@J as of right now no sir. Things have been picking up at the RR and husband has been working his tail off poor thing. But I’m kinda liking the idea of making my little girl lilo and my son stitch lol. Oldest girl says she wants to be annabell, but she has no idea what that is I don’t think, just that it’s a scary doll, but I don’t think she’s ready for that yet.
Right now I'm busy with fall cleaning in preparation for October 1, when the decorating process begins and it takes about a week to finish. I completely redecorate the front of the house. The sun room is the front entrance to the house and that room is all black and white gothic theme, all skulls and skeletons, black lace curtains and black standing candelabra with bleeding black tapers. The living room and dining room are covered with vintage Halloween decorations like blow molds and paperboard cutouts and vintage masks hung on the walls next to framed spooky art prints. There are some skeleton props and creepy customized dolls that go outside by the front door. In mid October I buy a truckload of pumpkins from a farmer friend and I carve around fifty of them as jack o lanterns for the big day. While I'm carving the pumpkins I binge watch my favorite supernatural horror and Halloween themed movies. For the trick or treaters we hand out a can of pop and a snack sized bag of chips; we don't eat much candy so it's nice to have leftover bags of Doritos, Cheetos and Lays potato chips. Whenever a child chooses a can of Mountain Dew I get an evil smile on my face while I think, "go ahead and use it to wash down all that candy, little one, I'm sure your parents will love it." I do have a good number of parents asking if they can have a can of Coke or Sprite as well, chaperoning trick or treats is thirsty work. Hoping for decent weather and a good number of trick or treaters on the big night.

I'm guessing your son will be trick or treating for his mother. So, don't tax his older sisters. We don't need more "sovereign citizens" popping up in Texas.
Happy Halloween 🎃

For some reason, the mention of canned soda and Halloween made me crave Winn Dixie brand black cherry soda. Hopefully, there isn't a Stephen King story in that.
How do you get your jack-o'-lanterns to last that long?
Yesterday, I cut the log for this year's tiki. It's a 6' long by 2.5' wide poplar log. I'm thinking about carving it as a cannibal like this one.https://share.google/9ipv1gEAau9z6Ka0C
@J lol 😂 pretty much but that’s the perfect term for my middle child lol. I’m desperately trying to break her of it 🤦🏼♀️
As skinny as Taylor Swift is, that display isn't far off of the mark.https://youtube.com/shorts/ueuEkZcRWm...
I have the Voodoo Tiki playlist mostly figured out. I'll be playing White Zombie, The Serpent and the Rainbow, and Mr. Vampire.White Zombie

This weekend, I'll hit Costco for beer and chicken wings.
I even bought an Hawaiian shirt and a Panama hat.
How are your plans coming along?

Anyone have any of those super realistic masks & costumes?
I got the Texas Chainsaw (Leatherface) and SAW (clown-thing) masks a few years back and they're pretty darn creepy, even looking at myself in the mirror with them on =)
