I begin to wonder if Balmonte's obsession for bringing the killer to justice derived from a need for absolution of/redemption for/ his justified shooting of a boy early in his career. What do you think?

CW Crollard | 18 comments Possible. I believe he was most motivated to try to find closure for the victim's family. However, he could have been motivated by both, plus other feelings. He was a complicated personality.

Yes he was, often to his own detriment. His tenacity, however, reminds me of the investigator in "Killers of the Flower Moon."
