So a very good example of inspiration for writing is the movie "I Can Only Imagine" with actors Dennis Quaid, Trace Adkins, and J. Michael Finley playing the main character Bart Miller. Bart's father Arthur would beat him when he was 10 & 11 years old. His mother left them. Years later when Bart was a young man, he sat one morning at the breakfast table with his father. During an argument, Arthur broke a plate across Bart's head. Bart left home to pursue a singing career with a Christian group MercyMe. Bart persuaded music producer Brickell to travel with them on their bus. Later, when Bart tells Brickell he has been "running" from his abusive father, Brickell tells Bart to let his pain be the inspiration for his music writing. Bart leaves his group to take care of things with his father. It didn't go smoothly. Bart said that maybe God forgave his father, but he couldn't. Bart discovered that his father was dying of cancer. Bart finally forgave his father. They formed a bond, but his father soon passed away because of the cancer. The song, "I Can Only Imagine" was written in 10 minutes on the bus after his father's funeral. This song launched the group's success in both Christian and secular radio.
All of us deal with pain; some more than others. When I heard the Brickell character tell Bart to let his pain be the inspiration to write, I could identify with that. Of course, other things have inspired me to write such as movies, music, and Bible scripture. I hope someone is inspired by what I've shared here.

One of the ironies of life is that a person can hurt another--physically and/or mentally--for a long time while the receiver of the abuse usually forgives on a whim. Glenda, your story and personal comments are not only inspirational but motivational as well.
Inspiration came years ago when the realization hit me as to the importance of Israel becoming a nation. Now, daily I see the prophecies unfold. The End of Days?
Everyone is talking about it, but haven’t they said this same thing every generation since the time of the Apostles? Matthew 24:36 tells us no man knows the day or the hour. So, why do they continue to tell us the time is now? 1 Thessalonians 5 speaks of the season of the second coming. Even though we don’t know the day or hour we are given clues as to the season.
• Many shall come in my name.
• There will be wars and rumors of wars.
• Nation shall rise against nation. Famines, pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All of these are listed in Matthew 24 and are happening. Also happening are:
• The Jews will be gathered up, afflicted, and killed. The Jewish nation will be hated by all nations for Christ’s name’s sake.
• People hating and betraying one another.
• Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
• The Gospel will be preached in all the world; and then shall the end come.
• Globalist preparation. (One world government and monetary system.)
• Lovers of self. (Your truth. Your decision as to right and wrong, making you a god.)
• Israel became a nation – This prophecy was foretold thousands of years ago in Ezekiel 37: 21,22 and became a reality in 1948. With that in mind read Matthew 24: 34 which says, “This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”
All of the above have happened and are still happening. Those signs listed below are foretold to happen.
• Gog, Magog, and Persia coalition to fight Israel. (The War of Ezekiel) Sudan (Ethiopia), Turkey (Gomer), Russia (Magog), Iran (Persia), and Libya will invade Israel. Ezekiel 38 goes on to tell in the final verses of God’s intervention.
• Damascus will be reduced to ash. Isaiah 17: 1
• False prophets showing signs and great wonders.
• Seven-year tribulation.
• Many believe the evil one cannot come until the Spirit-filled Christians are no longer here. The rapture is found in Matthew 24: 40 – 51.
• Temple Mount to be rebuilt.
• The abomination of desolation (the antichrist), stands in the holy place. This is spoken of by Daniel the prophet.
Should we call it the end times? Or is it the beginning of a new age? So much more is prophesied. Seek out knowledge from words that were written hundreds and thousands of years ago for your confirmation.
That was an excellent outline of Bible prophecy and what is happening today. I was showing this to the hubby & he wanted me to email it to him. Thank you for posting.

Interesting excerpts... some contradicting today's prophecies while some providing factual happenings. We can only hope that man can finally see the damage and hurt he creates in the name of what...!

Thinking about what inspires us to write is a great way to really pinpoint just what is is that we love about writing. In fact, it's a very good idea to write down what motivates you to want to write. That way if you are ever stuck for writing ideas or feeling uncertain you can look at your list and think ‘Oh yes, that’s why I do it.’
Tell us about how you derive your inspiration to write. The examples are endless. But here are some that you can elaborate on:
*Music
*Nature
*People
*Other Writers
*History
*Hobbies and Passions
*Stories of Fascinating Lives
*Love
*Teaching People Things
*Expressing Oneself
