START & FINISH DATES:Books you read will HAVE TO start and finish between the dates of the challenge! The challenge will start on November 9th, 2023 and will end on January 11th, 2024. Please have all your books logged for your team captain by January 12th, 2024. You will not be able to log books after January 11th, 2024. We will announce the winner of the challenge on January 12th, 2024!
*** Winning team will be choosing the BOTM for February 2024, will also get to choose the theme for the next reading challenge as well as team names for that challenge!****

*Keep in mind like I have said we are trying to make the teams as fair as possible. We want to make sure everyone has a fair chance at making points so if you don't get the team you want please don't get upset.*
RULES FOR THE CHALLENGE:
✅ All writing prompts and reviews of books have to be 78+ words or more in order to get the full amount of points.
✅ Comic books, and Audio books are not allowed in this challenge. All books HAVE TO BE OVER 100 pages in order to count for points. If book is UNDER 100 PAGES you will NOT BE ALLOWED to count the points for that.
✅ You are allowed to use UNLIMITED amount of writing and book prompts.
✅ Have fun and please be respectful to your team captain as well as your team mates. If we see ANY negativity, or rude comments you will be REMOVED from the challenge and you will not be able to join back in. Keep in mind as well, everyone has different taste in books.
IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY ABOUT A BOOK, PLEASE DON'T SAY IT.
HOW TO EARN POINTS FOR YOUR TEAM:
For each book you read in the challenge, you will earn points for your team.. Depending on how long the book is, will show you down below how many points you will earn!
100- 200 pages: 2 points
201- 300 pages- 4 points
301- 400 pages- 5 points
401- 500 pages- 6 points
501- 600 pages- 7 points
601+ pages- 8 points
➕ If you do a buddy read, that will be an extra 4 points!
➕ If the book happens to be a BOTM, (Book Of The Month) then that will also be an extra 4 points!
➕ If you happen to choose to write your own personal review of the book, that will be an extra 5 points!
➕ Book & Writing prompts will be an extra 3 points each! Writing prompts HAVE TO BE OVER 78+ WORDS OR MORE in order to get the full amount of points!
➕ Extra 5 points if you birthday is in December, January, or February! (You can use this as many times as you want.

Personal Review:
Ben Sterling had chosen to stop his rodeo career and settle down and find a family of his own with some kids. Ben has came from a wonderful family, and his parents gave him a normal life that he wouldn't have done anything different. Sissy has just taken over the cafe since her Aunt Mabel had died of a heart attack. Sissy has not had a very wonderful childhood and she hasn't had the best luck with relationships either. The Sterling family has lived in Mystic Creek for a while now and pretty much knows everyone in town. Sissy has amazing cooking skills and her past if very fishy and she doesn't like to talk about it very much. Ben had first came into the cafe to get some breakfast when he first laid eyes on Sissy. He is fallen head over heels for her and he thinks she could be a potential person that he would want to spend the rest of his life with. She was very clear when she promised herself that she wouldn't let another man ruin her life. Ben Sterling has a way to her heart and over time things begin to start off between the two of them. After the first encounter, Ben knew that this was not going to be easy to make her heart fall in love with him.
Sissy Bentley works hard at the cafe and has plans for the future in her life. As everyone in town slowly gets to meet her, she is worried that she will not be able to make friends as easy. Knowing Sissy's childhood is absolutely heart breaking and will make you sick to your stomach. Sissy has never had a father or mother who cared for their children. She has moved several times in her high school career, and she struggled to get good grades because her father cared only for one thing and that was getting drunk every night. Doug (Sissy's father) didn't treat his daughter very well at all. Every town they lived in he was known as the abusive and drunk of the town. Ever since Ben laid eyes on her in the cafe, he is slowly starting to try and see if their is a relationship happening between them. Ben lives on a farm and knows how to take care of animals. Sissy has chickens in her backyard of the cafe. She doesn't have very much money and Ben is offered to build her a new chicken coop but instead of her paying back with money, he gets free meals from the cafe.
Throughout the book, he slowly finds projects to do around her cafe. Ben is taking the time to help her out and it all starts when she takes a day of and closes the cafe for a day, Sissy and Ben are traveling together to sight see when neither of them knew what was about to happen. Ben is trying to get her to open up about her past but when he realizes that she hardly talks about her parents or her siblings.... things have to be wrong. Will Sissy be able to open up and trust Ben?! Read the book to find out!!!
Accidents happen and Ben is a true cowboy and will never pressure her into doing something she is not comfortable doing. Sissy is scared she is catching feelings for him but she promised herself she wouldn't let another man ruin her life. All Ben is trying to do is help her and make it to where she has less stress. Well Sissy slips on the ice as she is walking to her apartment and now things change when she fractures her tibia and Ben has to take care of her. Two months she will not be able to open the cafe so Ben tries to take over and help her out so she doesn't lose business. Will she let Ben into her life?! Read the book to find out?!
I will say Sissy drove me absolutely bonkers throughout the whole book. Ben was trying to show her he cared about her and she immediately pushed him away several times. Until she was able to admit her feelings, things went fast between them. Once she had realized who Ben was now she is begging for sex just because she saw him working outside without his shirt while he was working on her chicken coop.
