In chapters 5 to 8, Chaput mentions the following:

a) Your country.
b) Your ideology.
c) Your family.
d) Your faith.

Or would you die for something else?

Maggie | 53 comments I know I would like to think I would fight for my faith and my family, and be willing to surrender for them as well, but having gone through the stations of the cross during Lent, I think any assertion is a premature boast. We can love and know that if we love fiercely, we can still falter —in a moment of weakness. We are the shouting crowd, the fleeing naked man, the soldiers, the good and bad thief. We are Herod, Pilate, Judas and Peter and all who wept. When we cooperate with grace, we in the moment might be Veronica or Simon or like any who looked on Jesus with love. It is our hope.

Especially Peter, who was ready to die for Christ but denied him thrice. As you say, we are Peter.
