I loved this book! Anyone have a comment on it. The dysfunction in this family, the inability to discuss issues with each other, the quiet desperation.

Initially when I came to the end, I thought 'wait, what? No!". But after I've thought about it (and might need to reread some parts), it seems to me they all came to a consciousness of love, forgiveness, maybe even some grace in their own ways. That was the important part. Anything could have happened after that - some one shot, killed... or not, long conversations, etc. But the deepening awareness on of their mutual regard and love for the family was the important part.
I thought this was an amazing book.

I threw this book across the room when I finished it. These characters were so, so pathetic. Why on earth does a grown man hang out with a quack handyman (who murders squirrels) building a prepper compound behind his house? Also hard to believe that a stay at home mother could be so clueless. The only character that wasn't a self absorbed idiot ends up dead. This book should come with a warning label.
