Cheryl (cherylllr) Best gift my son ever gave was an annotated edition of this to a friend who mentioned she liked the original. I believe annotated editions, when available, would need only the smallest of trinkets... maybe a sketch or a quote on a clean piece of heavy paper so they'd have a unique bookmark.

Barring being able to find an annotated edition, some books lend themselves to companion books. Juster's masterpiece lends itself to another by Juster, The Dot and the Line: A Romance in Lower Mathematics. Or else A Children's Almanac of Words at Play, perhaps, or an anthology of playful & nonsense verse.

More books is always a good idea! I love these suggestions!
