This is where you'll introduce yourselves! Who are you? Why do you want to read this book? What is your quest? What's the average wingspan of a swallow?

Hi! I am Arthur and I am one of the organizers of this Read-Along. You can find me on youtube, my channel is ChapterSelect. I am just so excited to be a part of this readalong and to talk with you about christian fiction! Hope you all have fun!

message 3: by Brandy (new)

Brandy (brandaluna) Greetings! I'm Brandy, and I'm a massive C.S. Lewis fan. I read (reread) my new copy of the annotated The Screwtape Letters as my first book this year, but I'm always excited to discuss it with others. I have a new book blog where I posted a short post about my rereading.

message 4: by Renee (new)

Renee Hi. I'm Renee and, like Brandy, I'm a CS Lewis fan and have read Screwtape many times. (I liked your blog post, Brandy.) Given that the annotated version does not seek to interpret the book (I hate that), I've decided to give it a read and look forward to gaining some new insights. Will start it later this week.

Amanda (shessomickey) Hi! I'm Amanda, a YouTuber and friend of Elizabeth's. I've read all of Lewis with the exception of Screwtape, which I saw as a play several years ago. I'm excited to read it!

message 6: by Renee (new)

Renee Hi Amanda. Did you happen to see the play with Max McLean as Screwtape? It's touring again (see ScrewtapeOnStage.com). It's fantastic!

Alexandra Hunter (kommanderalexandra) | 1 comments Hey Guys, I'm Alexandra. I do a lot of fun blog related stuff on youtube and my website. I've only ever read Narnia and The Four Loves, so I'm excited to read more of his stuff.

April Sarah | 4 comments Hi guys, I'm April. As soon as I heard about this read-a-long I had to join. There is something about C.S. Lewis and his story telling, plus I've been embedded in the theatre world for sooooooo long. I look forward just hearing other peoples perspective and the insight that they gain.

Sherri (marathonsun) | 1 comments Hi - I'm Sherri. I have only read C.S. Lewis' Narnia series but have had Screwtape on my TBR shelf for years. Can't wait to get in on this.

message 10: by Bekah (new)

Bekah (bezzabee) Hello! I'm Rebekah. I've been a C.S. Lewis fan for ages, thanks to my mom, who was big into the Inklings (especially Tolkien) I read a lot of Lewis on my own and as part of course work in college, but I have never got around to The Screwtape Letters, so I'm really excited to have the incentive.

Sabrina Rourke (steakuccino) Hi, I'm Sabrina and I love CS Lewis. The Screwtape Letters is my favorite of his and I've been dying to reread it so this is perfect timing!
I'm looking forward to interesting conversations with all of you!

message 12: by Antonio (new)

Antonio Vallenilla | 1 comments I'm Antonio, I've only read the lion, the witch and the wardrobe (sorry) and liked it, it seemed exciting to read a book as a group and see all your cool opinions and how they compare and contrast with each other. As soon as I end Jane Eyre I'll start reading the book!! Btw: thanks Sam for inviting me to join the group.

message 13: by Jana (new)

Jana (penguininabluebox) I'm Jana, I'm a booktuber at penguininabluebox, and I have loved C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia series ever since I was a child. I've been wanting to read something else of his for a long time, so I'm going to try and get my hands on The Screwtape Letters for this read-a-long. :) Thanks for the invitation, Sam!

message 14: by Emily (new)

Emily Hi, I'm Emily. I just started the Chronicles of Narnia this year and have loved them so far, love C.S. Lewis and cant wait to start this one.

message 15: by Felicia (new)

Felicia (littleprairielibrary) What do you mean, African or European?

I am Felicia, and my channel is over at Little Prairie Library. I haven't read The Screwtape Letters yet, and one of my life goals is to read all of CS Lewis' works. I like having the incentive of a group read-along, so this is just perfect!

Kailey (Luminous Libro) (luminouslibro) | 5 comments Hi, I'm Kailey. I have read Screwtape many times, but I'm due for another reread! I get something new from it every time. Like many of you, I'm a big fan of C.S.Lewis, and I have read most of his books.

message 17: by John (new)

John (johninen) | 3 comments I'm John. I read the book long time ago, and did so in one sitting in the middle of the night. I remember that it was fun but a bit boring (since I read it so fast and I was really tired). I've been meaning to read it again sometime, for reals, so I guess I tag along this read-along for that purpose. Also, being a huge C.S. Lewis fan and read 17 of his books/collections in total, this could be a really nice reread. I think it may be better in original english as well, because I read it in norwegian last time.

Also, there is a total of 83 spieces of swallows, so it toally depends on the kind and the size of the bird when considering wingspan. To have wings though, and for wingspan to matter, you gotta be hatched first. So I quote C.S. Lewis on this: "It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad."

Rachael Robson (AwakeAndReading) | 1 comments Hello, everyone -

I'm Rachael. I have read The Screwtape Letters and a few of Lewis' other works (Chronicles of Narnia,Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, and Mere Christianity) and loved them all. It's been a couple of years since I last read Screwtape, and I was so excited to see this read-along that I had to join.

Really looking forward to the discussions. :)

I blog at awakeandreading.com, and my YouTube channel is here.
