I'm sort of waiting for Fourth Wing to be a kindle deal, as I'm interested in seeing what the big deal is. If that doesn't happen I have The Tropic of Serpents on my TBR and I want to read The Undermining of Twyla and Frank when it comes out, as well as countless other fantasy books where dragons pop up.
Ron wrote: "I'm guessing any of the LOTR or Game of Thrones books would work."re LOTR - not the trilogy, but definitely the Hobbit and Silmarillion and possibly a few of his other Middle Earth stories, although I haven't read them so can't be certain.

I'm not sure what to read for this, but if you've never read Terry Pratchett's Guards! Guards!, that's a fun one for this prompt. Does anyone remember if there is an actual dragon in The Eyes of the Dragon? It's been forever since I read it and I can't remember if there is or if there is just a statue of a dragon. I might re-read it since it's been at least 20 years.
I added The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea to the list, which is also very good.
I've already read Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I think I'll go with For the Love of Hot Cocoa which is a cozy mystery and is on Kindle Unlimited. These are also on my TBR:
The Serpent and the Wings of Night
Fireborne
Anyone knows if there's a dragon in Sorcerer to the Crown? I've been meaning to read that for a year now.

yes there is - the dragon is a more major character in the sequel, but it's there in the first book too

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova features a dragon as an image and symbol.A children's picture book option: Saint George and the Dragon by Margaret Hodges and in several other retellings.
His Majesty's Dragon is one that I enjoyed last year. I plan to read the sequel, Throne of Jade, in 2024.

And if you want a lighter read, Dealing with Dragons is so, so good. It's technically middle grade but I think a great read for any age and adults can probably actually appreciate some of the tropes it pokes fun at a bit more than kids.
The Priory of the Orange Tree and it’s prequel are great. I like Temeraire too, might pick back up on that series.
I tentatively have So Let Them Burn on my radar for this prompt. One of my favorite manga series, Yona of the Dawn, involves dragons, but they aren't really mentioned until volume 3 or 4.

Seconding! Simon Vance is one of my favorites and he made the Temeraire series extremely enjoyable.

Highly recommend!
Can anyone confirm if Sorcerer to the Crown has dragons? trying to find a book by a BIPOC author that is NOT YA; any suggestions?

There is a dragon. It plays a bigger role in the sequel, but it's there in the first book too. (At least ... I THINK so!! it's been a few years since I read those books!)

Thanks for the confirmation, Nadine!!
There is a whole middle grade series called Wings of Fire where the characters are all dragons. I've read them all with my son, but luckily a new one came out just before Christmas so I can read that this year. The first book in the series is called The Dragonet Prophecy.
A charming picture book that would satisfy this prompt: Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon by Kat Zhang.
The Caldecott Honors were just announced for Children's Picture Books in 2023. One of the books fits this category: The Truth About Dragons by Julie Leung illustrated by Hanna Cha.
I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons by Peter S. Beagle will be published this May, and it's currently on NetGalley as an ARC.
I tend to like my fantasy rooted a little more in the real world and was happy I stumbled across Burn by Patrick Ness while looking to fill a different prompt. The premise was different, but I mostly enjoyed it.
currently engrossed in the prequel to The Priory of the Orange Tree- A Day of the Fallen Night by Samantha Shanon. Dragons are part of the tale but their essence is weak in the plot and for most part they have been shown to be unwilling / lethargic and slow to act. Anyone else has read this book? Any thoughts?
Does anyone know if those Disney Twisted Tales have dragons in them?If I remember the Sleeping Beauty story, Malificent turns into a Dragon, but I want to know (I'm okay with spoilers in this case), if she turns into one in the Disney Twisted Tale: Once Upon a Dream
*****
Update:
Someone looked it up for me and it does have a dragon in it so I'll be going with this book.
This is what irks me about the challenge this year. Not only do we have the very specific prompts related to numbers, but the more general ones are not as general as they could be. 'A book featuring dragons' is a lot narrower than 'a book related to dragons'. So disposing of this prompt as simply as possible, I read The Dragon of Krakow and Other Polish Stories which features two stories about dragons and generally unfamiliar folk tales. There's a lot of dragon merchandise in lovely Krakow, which is quite amusing when you read about how unwelcome the dragon was, and how it was eventually disposed of.
If anyone doesn't want to read about DRAGONS dragons, Moonbound by Robin Sloan just came out and features AI entities that are called dragons.
For anyone that would like a middle grade option, I recently picked up The Dragon Defenders by James Russell, which is only 99 cents on Kindle. It was a quick, easy read.
I read Fourth Wing for this prompt but have just discovered a YA title at my library that's slightly different:Rebelwing by Andrea Tang. The dragons are robotic..
Looks like Goodreads has a genre section for Dragons.A couple on my TBR are:
Have read these and loved them:
Is it cheating if I use an an anthology where I was one of the contributors? I don't think the Popsugar Police will come after me, and I really enjoyed the other 21 stories in The Dragon's Hoard 2:http://www.lauraruthloomis.com/whats-...

I know a lot of us were hoping to see DRAGONS make the list, for the Year of the Dragon!! I think I'll use this as an opportunity to pick up Fourth Wing and see what all the fuss is about.
