It is aparently a very well written book. Have you considered reworking it a bit for a young adult audience? I don't know the logistics with amazon and I don't mean to suggest giving up on this audience, but only adding another. A coming of age story with adventure and growth seems like it lends itself to that audience as well. Blessings!

Thanks for the suggestion, Marlee! Sadly, I am reluctant to do that because all the subsequent titles in the series have adult protagonists. The first book in the series has a child protagonist partly because I wanted to introduce readers to a simpler version of the world I was building, to ease them in before introducing more sophisticated characters.

I read an ARC in the spring, but the book was never published as far as I know. If she has made significant changes, she should notify her ARC readers.

My guess would be that it's the same (the date in the file name is from the spring: 2023-04-13)

I originally picked it up in early summer - that file version is exactly the same as the one I just got (I did a calibre file compare). It's possible that the early summer one I got was already revised from March but unlikely.

I’m glad I’m not alone in this! I have to check here to see if I’ve even read some books. And some I can read the description and remember I’ve read it but not rated or reviewed it. I won’t blame it on age because I remember when I bought physical books being fooled when they changed a cover and buying it again.

Just wanted to put in a good word for the new book from Abigail Reynolds. It’s one of her fantasy works and is called Spellbound at Pemberley: A Pride & Prejudice Variation. If you love some fantasy mixed in with your Austenesque fiction, and I know many of you do, this is a really good one!

Btw, it’s the first in a series, so don’t expect everything to be resolved by the end of the book.

I don't recall, are there 3 or books in the series?

I thought I remembered it ended up a trilogy. But after Monica Fairview's turning in to to 4 I wasn't sure.
I can see why. She really created total AU to carry her storyline.
