This story had some problems with the too perfect H/h, and Peyton not calling the police when she was run off the road. But I was thoroughly entertained by the sexual harassment storyline and trying to get the resort running and making money. For some reason, this book kept my attention more than most of the other books in this series.

I agree that Finn and Peyton are a little too perfect. I didn't care for Finn and his willingness to just walk away from Peyton. It takes her almost getting blown up for him to face his true feelings. I'm not a fan of that trope.

When I wrote my very simple review of this book, I remarked that the setting of the Cove stuck with me after I had finished reading. That is what I will remember along with that first chapter.

I think the author used the snow storm of Minnesota to make the Cove sound all the much better.

It's funny but Finn's walking away didn't bother me this time. I expect it in this series and when we got to that point, I said to myself "love denial" --check. He will be back in a few paragraphs.

I liked this book better than a couple of the previous books. Maybe I'm in Garwood's rhythm for this one.

That may be true, that the hero has an avoidance complex, I still don't like it and I don't like it that it is a staple in this series.

It's definitely a staple in this series which I've just come to accept. I do enjoy these books and still believe the repetitiveness wouldn't bother me so much if I read them spread out over more time.

I'm sorry you don't enjoy these books. I love them. I love the romance, the suspense, the mystery and the characters, all of them, even Debi in this one. There is a void in the Romantic Suspense genre of authors that write a balanced Romantic Suspense. Either the books skew to Romance or It's all Suspense with a whiff of romance.

I love most of the books in this series. Like Sandra, I think reading them so close together does highlight the repeated themes. It is a little irritating when themes are repeated so often.

I enjoy them Anita. In spite of my little grumblings. lol I think discussing them is a platform for digging into them a bit more than I would normally do and little things that I might normally just read right over become a point of discussion. And the one a month format just highlights the repetitiveness. I've loved most of the heroes and heroines in this series in spite of little flaws.

I agree digging into them shows up their flaws more than if you were just reading them for pleasure. There is also the issue of reading them so close together that we see a lot of those flaws repeated from book to book, but I would really like to find more like them.

I was thinking about the MacBain brothers. I wonder if Garwood had some hyperactive brothers. She did such a good job portraying their hi jinks.

I thought I would weigh in. Overall, I like this series even though I have complained here or there about certain tropes coming up again and again. I have given most of the books in this series at least 4 stars. I think there was only one I disliked enough to rate it lower and I can't even remember which one or why.

If I find another author like Julie Garwood, I will be reading it!

I would too, Anita! I love romance/suspense books.

I agree. Overall, it has been a good series. Each book on its own is pretty good and, like Jessica, I've given most of them at least 4 stars. As Sandra mentioned, we are just picking up the repetitiveness of some of the plot points and tropes. And our discussions just highlights the fact that we know what things will happen in the next book (love denial) since it happened in nearly all of the previous books.
