i'm new here, my name is zoey (they/she) and I'm a grad student doing some research on queer readership, particularly how queer folks interact w/ books/printed media (including zines, comics, etc) and what books mean to queer folks.
I'm pulling together a bigger project currently, and I need some data to finish it up. so i was wondering if you guys might like to take this survey: https://forms.gle/w7KMQqJ9ib8FVNWp8 to help me out.
all of your answers are totally anonymous, it's all queer book related. i'd love to hear from you! :) it's totally casual, no need to sound formal at all, i just want to hear your honest opinions. if you have any questions or anything you want to add or mention, please let me know! anything helps :)

i'd also like to say thank you again for your responses. i just started grad school, and i've second-guessed my decision to focus on queer lit a few times, seeing as few professors at my university teach the topic and there's already such a huge body of amazing queer scholarship that i was afraid i'd never shape up. but a lot of you left really moving responses reminding me how necessary this kind of work is. i really screwed myself over because now i can't open the response page without being blown away by the genuine excitement, love, and gratitude that you all have for queer books. it moves me to tears. i'll never forget one response that someone left: at the end of talking about the slew of book bannings in the US, they said, "thank you for your curiosity." so, thank you all for fueling my curiosity, thank you for helping to do work that means something to me. i'm proud to be a queer lit scholar :)
