Dorothy Must Die discussion

im the kind of person who likes things explained on paper, or visually more acurately.

so if your like me, and can't find the proper forum to explain this; here is the series of dorothy must die summerized and put into a time line of books in case anyone would like to read it.

2 quick disclaimers! i have not finished all the stories, nor is this timeline fully finished! i will return once it calls, but for now, this is it. also spoilers for the entire series.

1 - The Queen of Oz

2 - The Straw King
the recently crowned king of oz, is spending his second anniversary as king reading with his friend the lion. however he is quickly fleeing the emerald city after being attacked by an outside force. running to his friend's kingdom, he finds glinda, who offers him a deal to quickly end the brawl. not without a few casualties however. at the battle, scare runs away with glinda to find she has an army to battle the general, along with a young girl, who is ozma, who she plans to help rule, and offers the proposition with scare as well. they decide this and then head back to the emerald city to fight, yet ozma uses her magic to reveal herself as queen, and the battle ends. a celebratory coronation begins and all seems well, for now.

3 - Ruler of Beasts
the lion finds himself unreasonably bored back in his kingdom after ozma is crowned. he even holds a tournament, but it too ends in bordom. glinda then comes by to offer him a quest. to find a necklace and keep ozma company. she even binds him to it. yet he finds it easier said then done as ozma seems just like him. they even briefly come against the nome king, which has the necklace the lion needs. yet when it seems like they can finally rest, glinda comes to take the necklace. she and ozma battle which ends with glinda in a prison, and lion leaving, bowing to not be disrespected again.

4 - No Place Like Oz
2 years after visiting the wonderful world of oz, dorothy gale finds herself disillusioned with her home state of kansas, and wishing for more beyond the prarire. she is given this when she is given a pair of ruby shoes from glinda on her 16th birthday, which sends her back to oz, this time with aunt em and uncle henry. although overjoyed, her uncle and aunt arent. however, they set off on a journey of rescue to save glinda. this leads them to the scarecrow, which then takes them to ozma in the emeralds city. ozma, happy to meet the witchslayer, welcomes them, yet suspisions arise that the new queen is hiding something. this is proven at a ball held in dorothy's honor where at the end of a harsh and fatal battle glinda is released. this begins dorothy's reign.

5 - Heart of Tin
the tin man finds himself smitten over his former friend dorothy, and missing his other friends as well until he hears great news, dorothy has returned and he's been invited to a ball in her honor. thrilled he heads there immediately wishing to speak with her, but he can't until the ball. he agonizes on how to tell dorothy just how much he loves her. yet despite their dance together, he cant. he leaves early to sleep, but finds in the morning dorothy is the new princess. he then realizes that glinda is asking him to protect dorothy with an army. he goes home to the winkies to convince them, but has to forcefully make them go. once there, dorothy isn't satisfied, and the scarecrow offers him a proposition. experiment on them a bit. this begins to make the tin man see that he isn't strong enough for dorothy yet, so he asks glinda to help him. with her power, he walks up to dorothy showing the brand new soldier, promising to get more for an army.

6 - Order of the Wicked
landel has lost everything to the new queen dorothy, after she raided her family's village and killed everyone she loved. she hears rumors of an order to help save oz, and she goes to find them in the wandering mountains. stumbling upon them, she trains vigorously, hoping to avenge her family. yet it all seems to halt for a moment when she meets another recruit, named melindra. she fun and bright, and does her best to bring landel's hopes up. however it seems in vain, as she trains more with other recruits, who tear her down as she desperately tries to climb up. she finds herself leaning on melindra more, growing into something more than friendship, yet melindra seems more interested in nox as something more. it culminates as its revealed landel will be sent to ev, a land only thought of as a legend, and melindra back to the emerald palace, with an awful fate seeming to await her. landel doesn't take it well, and vows to take revenge. this time, against the order.

7 - The Witch Must Burn
working for the newly crowned dorothy, jellia finds herself fearful and angry. shes great at her job as head maid of the house, but lives in fear of how much evil dorothy is spreading. she hopes to get by without any thing going wrong, until glinda asks to take jellia with her to her palace. jellia has no choice, and so goes along. it seems normal, until in a random clearing, glinda stops and attempts to use jellia's small amount of magic, only previously used for house chores, to mine into the earth. it doesn't work, leaving jellia hurt and bruised. either way, they have an uneventfull ride to glinda's palace, where she meets the boss, nox, who tries to help get used to glinda for the next 3 months. it seems futile to argue until she expresses just how much she misses the old oz, and ozma. nox realizes this and tells her about the revolutionary order of the wicked, an order formed to take down dorothy by the former wicked witches. at first, jellia is hesitant, as after another failed attempt at mining for magic using jellia, glinda abandons her and she's picked up by the order to find herself in a cavern, being asked to join, not promising her survival. although worried, she joins, and promises to remain head maid to help oz.

8 - Dark Side of the Rainbow
rainbow falls is paradise in an already perfect world, fun by a fairy, polly. cousins to the queen of oz, ozma, it seems to just be boys and drinks until a captivating guy catches polly's eye. small problems pop up here and there, yet its still perfect. thats until a quote on quote, "new queen" stumbles on to the shores. dorothy gale, who was thought to have left for the other place, but who seemed to have replaced ozma. yet, polly doesn't question it too much, as they initially have fun together. its until her suspicions get the best of her she heads the emerald place to find a fearful air surrounding all the subjects and a maid echoing to find a witch to answer this. yet once returning to the falls, dorothy reveals herself to be a power hungry witch. a brawl ensues, leaving rainbow falls crumbled. polly vows to never let her kingdom down again.

9 - The Wizard Returns
although thought to have left, the wizard finds himself still in oz 25 years later, laying in sea of blossoms after his balloon got struck down. he has no recollection of the past, and finds himself face to face with pete, with obvious distain for him. despite this pete seemingly helps him, and gets him to the kingdom of the wingless ones where a young monkey captures him and takes him to the queen lulu. using iris information he helps the kingdom but to iris's happiness. then once leaving, he saves iris's life and finds himself in a hole with fairies, asking him if he'd rather say or leave oz depending on what awaits for him in kansas. he chooses oz, but with suspicion, forms an alliance with the fairies.
