Great read! Nothing like the movie and by the end I was wishing the parts they left out of the film were put in! Always better.

I think it should be separated from the movie, they're both good in their own right and in their own way and work well as supplements for one another. I've read it as a teenager and re-read it last year, I had a great edition with the introduction on how the book and the movie came to be: 2001: A Space Odyssey
Incredible content aside, I'm amazed at how elegant Clarke's writing is. That alone is worth reading and re-reading and re-reading and...
