I did not read much on my 2023 list and have 6 left. Usually I would roll them forward, but I have decided to pick a new 10 for now from my Wishlist and my Owned list.
Bea's List from 2011 (wishlist):
√1. Thr3e [Christian Fiction] Read 9/23/24 - 4*
√2. The Covenant [Christian Fiction, Amish] - Read 9/10/24 - 4*
√3. Skin [Christian Fiction] Read 10/23/24 - 3*
√4. The Dressmaker of Khair Khana: Five Sisters, One Remarkable Family, and the Woman Who Risked Everything to Keep Them Safe [Nonfiction, Memoir] - Read 1/24/24 - 5*
√5. Tea with Hezbollah: Sitting at the Enemies' Table Our Journey Through the Middle East [Nonfiction] - Read 2/10/24 - 4*
Oh, my goodness! Looks like I had a period of interest in Christian Fiction.
From my 2011 Owned list:
6. The Hornet's Nest: A Novel of the Revolutionary War [Historical Fiction]
7. The Pony Wife [Historical]
8. Staying Well With Guided Imagery: How to Harness the Power of Your Imagination for Health and Healing [Nonfiction, Self Help]
√9. Touching the Fire: Buffalo Dancers, the Sky Bundle, and Other Tales [Nonfiction? Per blurb, these are Native American tales and stories] - Read 9/12/24 - 4*
√10. James Earl Jones, Voices and Silences [Nonfiction, Biography] - Read 11/7/24 - 3*
I skipped two in the Owned list because they are already planned for reading in 2024.
Observation: This looks like the year for nonfiction (four, five if you include the NA tales) and Christian Fiction (3). Neither genre is one of my preferred. Oh, well. Stretching those reading boundaries is a challenge!

I'm going to create some of my own rules here, due to the books that are in these slots on my list. I'm going to bypass anything that is part of a series in which I have not read (or in one case, want to reread) the previous books. I will replace a book in the series with the initial or earlier book in that series that I have yet to read. In addition, I will only place one book in a series on this list. Any books that I am unable to locate will be removed and replaced with the next book on the list. Finally, I would like to challenge myself to a "bonus round" by selecting the first 3 audiobooks from each year on my TBR.

This year i'm going to use my Audible 2012 purchases shelf this year
10/10
Way of the Wolf (3 Oct 2012) - Finished - 7/22/24 - ehh slightly interesting premise but i'm not really interested in continuing the series - glad to get it off my shelf
Queen Hereafter: A Novel of Margaret of Scotland (18 June 2012) - finished - 7/17/24 - ehhh interesting story but the narration/dialogue just felt patchy and didn't flow well - kind of disappointed.
Bloodshot (28 June 2012) -finished - 2/12/24 - ugh, i wish i had not only found this series sooner but that it had more than 2 books. The vampires in this seem unique and there is less origin story (like normal vampire books) and more, hey she is one, but she also is a PI.
To End All Wars: A Story of Loyalty and Rebellion, 1914-1918 (7 July 2012) - Finished 5/15/24 - I'll admit this isn't what i expected - i found the whole story of the conscientious objectors during WW1 fascinating because its something rarely talked about - I knew about the American medic in Korea who got a MoH and never carried a weapon, but that was the sum total of my knowledge. Def. want to read more about this and by the author
Prairie Nocturne (27 June 2012) - Finished - 1/24/24 - overall i enjoyed this but didn't realize that it was the second book in a series, so was missing some of the background - but I'm intrigued enough i want to go back and read the first one
A Lady Awakened (18 June 2012) - Finished - 2/8/23 - ehhh, nothing to write home about- semi-decent historical but nahhh not likely to continue series
Heir to the Shadows (18 May 2012) - Finished - 8/11/24 - this definately suffered from second book in series syndrome in that it has a lot of stuff that needed to move the plot forward but it ended up being pretty decent - looking forward to continuing with the series
Moloka'i (23 April 2012) - Finished - 2/26/24 - this blew me away - i can't believe it sat languishing on my TBL pile for so long. I had heard about Moloka'i previously but loved Rachel's story - i couldn't help but just feel so bad for her early on, but how Alan developed the whole idea of family that you weren't necessarily born into - awww
Love & Lies: Marisol's Story (7 March 2012) - finished - 3/1/24 - yeah, this one could have stayed lost on my shelves - egads sooo bad....
Relic (7 March 2012) - finished - 6/30/24 - yet another book i'm kicking myself for not reading sooner - this kept me on the edge of my listening seat and definately made me do more housework because i got caught up in the story...which is just crazy

How is everyone doing?
Myself...not so good with only 2 read.
I am leaving for a trip to Scotland soon and will not be back until the end of May. Usually I post the next game early in May. So, should I post in Mid-April or End of May? Please let me know which you prefer.

Myself...not so good with only 2 read.
I am leaving for a trip to Scotland soon and will not be back until the end of May. Usually I post the next game early in May. So, should I post in Mid-April or End of May? Please let me know which you prefer."
I'm far from finishing my initial LOST list, so it won't affect me either way. I think what we want to know is whether anyone expects to finish LOST before you get back. If so, you should probably post mid-April so they can start on FOUND while you're away.
Enjoy your trip. I'm sure it will be amazing!

Enjoy your trip, Bea. I agree with Susan, just start the thread and whenever anyone is ready, it's already there for them

Congratulations, Joyce, upon the completion!
For me, Found is harder, also. I will be posting it in the next week or so. Good luck on completing it also.

So...to get started.
Pick the 10 oldest books on your TBR. These are books that have been languishing on your To Read list for the longest. You may use any list...a paper list, a GR list, or just your home shelves.
For this game, you may DNR a book and still count it, if you gave it a try. (I have found some gems by trying a book I did not think I wanted to read after all these years.)
