What will you read in April?

My intention is to start the month with Lake Of Sins: Secrets In Blood, the sequel to Lake Of Sins: Escape. Not sure about what I will read next. Maybe the Chimera trilogy I got from Netgalley.

Kandice Horns for book club, hopefully Revival unless I get to it in March, finish House of Cards with which I am struggling, and I'll have to think of a few more.

Leigh Stuart | 348 comments @ Ana - What is the Chimera trilogy? Do you have a book link?

message 5: by Leigh (new)

Leigh Stuart | 348 comments Thanks, Ana!

I'm planning on reading a whole bunch this weekend - I hope everyone else has fun, too!

Melaslithos | 1645 comments Hi, so here are my plans for this month.

First, I'll continue with:
Probably Monsters by Ray Cluley

Then, I'd like to read:
The Sound Of One Hand Clapping by Richard Flanagan The China Collectors America's Century-Long Hunt for Asian Art Treasures by Karl E. Meyer The Great Zoo of China by Matthew Reilly Venus in Furs by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch Dusk (Rosales Saga, #1) by F. Sionil José

As usual, I might squeeze in the book for the Reading the Classics group when it will be chosen.

Kandice I seem to have misplaced my Nook so have been reading on my phone. I know it shouldn't make a difference, but I don't like it so tend to read a few minutes and then fins something else to do!

message 8: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I have almost finished Revival, will start Horns and absolutely have to finish House of Cards. I really like it, but it's so densely political, it just makes me tired to read more than a few pages at a time.

message 9: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (srasheed) I just finished Room. It is a great read, although a bit difficult at first since the narrator is a five year old. I'm getting ready to read Look Who's Back.

Alright, as usual my plans have changed for the month, eh.

What I have read so far:

Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman

The First (The Returned, #0.5) by Jason Mott The First (The Returned 0.5) by Jason Mott (my second audiobook experience)

Should finish Lake Of Sins Secrets In Blood (Lake of Sins, #2) by L.S. O'Dea Lake Of Sins: Secrets In Blood by L.S. O'Dea
soon, today or tomorrow.

Then I plan to read:

Edge of End by Suren Hakobyan Edge of End by Suren Hakobyan

The Bone Wall by D. Wallace Peach The Bone Wall by D. Wallace Peach

Line of Descent by James Derry Line of Descent by James Derry

Aftermath (After the Fall, #1) by Tom Lewis Aftermath by Tom Lewis

Maybe I won't have time to read all those and maybe there will be changes but anyway, that's the plan.

Kandice I am so thrilled that I finished 2 of the books on the list I set for myself: Revival and Horns, but am still trudging through House of Cards. It's no fault of the book's, I just just need to read political books straight through and went through that period where I lost my Nook so set this aside. I WILL finish it though.

I've also read Angel: Immortality For Dummies, The Door Into Summer, Bruiser, Doctor Who: The Blood Cell, The Bees and have almost finished The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating!

message 12: by Kandice (new)

Kandice BTW, does anyone think Doctor Who: The Blood Cell counts as a dystopian? It's set in a bleak future, albeit a future in a different Universe on a different timeline than ours...

It looks more like science fiction to me, Kandice.
Dystopias are mostly characterized by warped politics which completely obliterate individual freedom. I have not read any Doctor Who books so not sure if that is the case.

Where by Kit Reed Where (Excerpt) by Kit Reed

The Bone Wall by D. Wallace Peach The Bone Wall by D. Wallace Peach

Line of Descent by James Derry Line of Descent by James Derry

The Doll Maker by Richard Montanari The Doll Maker by Richard Montanari

It may look like a lot but most were quite short. The Doll Maker was the longest at 496 pages.

I just created my first monthly wrap up post in my blog, so if you want to check out my reviews that is probably the quickest way since they're all linked there: https://anaslair.wordpress.com/2015/0...

What books did you read in April? :)

Just keep chuggin' along! :)

Wow Kandice, what a hawl, well done!

message 19: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I actually have about 25 pages left to finish the Troop, so didn't quite make it, but thanks!

Yeah I always wonder what to do if I start a book at the end of the month but finish it in the next month. I have decided to count the date when I finish it :)

message 21: by Melaslithos (new)

Melaslithos | 1645 comments 0 books in April... That's an all time low for me...

I'll take some holidays in May, hope I'll be able to compensate!

Ouch!
Shame... I am sure May will be great!
