Hello all! Time to give your recommendations for May. This topic will be closed on April 12th and the poll put up on April 13th.

Jesse | 8 comments I'm going to suggest Supervillain of the Day by Katie Lynn Daniels. It's a fun story about a world without superheroes and what humans do in response. It is snarky, funny, kind of a superhero parody but in a nice way. Also, it is short and easy to read, so that's a plus.

Docxen | 159 comments love superhero book especially ones that are not about your average superhero ie who will save us now

I think we need to do a book with a lighter tone. I've heard this one is really funny.

Matt | 150 comments How about one of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries. I think you can get an ebook of the complete Sherlock Holmes for free or $1.

message 9: by Nathan (new)

Nathan | 34 comments I love Sherlock Holmes.

message 10: by Docxen (new)

Docxen | 159 comments i could go for Sherlock Holmes or one of the knock offs Holmes for the holidays is pretty good.

message 11: by John (new)

I was thinking the same thing John.

message 13: by SciFiNow (new)

SciFiNow | 89 comments Sounds good to me. Maybe we should save our star wars pick for Aftermath though?

message 14: by Matt (new)

Matt | 150 comments i second SciFiNow. I didn't think there was that much that was discussion-worthy in Heir to the Jedi, to be honest. I think Aftermath will have much more to talk about.

Aftermath can always be recommended anytime after it comes out. And I feel like a Star Wars book can be recommended any month too.

Jennifer (jenlynn97) | 60 comments What about Station Eleven? It has an interesting comic book twist in it.

John Reid (reidj) | 11 comments Moving away from the sci-fi genre a bit, my sister loaned me a copy of Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore. I'm about 20 pages in and I'm hooked so far. A little mystery, hinting at a little fantasy, and a quirky bookstore is involved! That one's my recommendation for May. (And the cover glows in the dark.)
Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore

message 18: by Docxen (new)

Docxen | 159 comments you had me at 24 hour bookstore.

message 19: by Keith (new)

Keith Wolters | 5 comments My recommendation is "Ye Gods: A Tale of Dogs and Demons" by Lynne Hinkey. It's a mystery involving a murder which may have been committed by a chupacabra.

1) I know Lynne. She was a high school classmate.
2) She'd be willing to join a podcast discussion on the book.
3) I think it's a great book with a good amount of humor.
