Buy this book. Yes, it's on OpenLibrary, but this is one that's cheap to come by and definitely worthy of shelf space. Buy two copies, and when you give one away, accompany it with:

- a small snowglobe with an alpine scene
- a penny whistle (metal)
- a silver bow and arrow brooch (strung with horse hair, ideally!)
- daisy-and-dandelion painted crockery of any kind
- jacks or, even better, small round pebbles to play knucklebones with (get practising). Spoiler: (view spoiler), and get a variety (a blueish one, a hag stone with a hole - also useful for alongside Coraline, etc.)
EDIT: see comments below, but added are:
- a Peace rose bush or rootstock to plant (they are lovely!)
- a golden charm bracelet with a tower/castle and a (view spoiler)

There's probably more items that I have already forgotten, but those are what stuck in my mind by the end.

Anything dandelions-and-daisies themed would work rather well (felt flower crowns off Etsy as well, perhaps).

Sigh. Still basking in the afterglow of this one. :)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Not my usual type of book but I put it on my wishlist at paperbackswap. There are a lot of editions, so I hope it comes up!

Embroidered felt bookmarks with dandelions and daisies. Perhaps a set of themed embroidered bookmarks. I'm keen on felt. :D

Hope you like it! :) I just bought another copy to give to a nephew/niece pair (calm older boy, fiesty younger sister).

I think this book really is invaluable in being a middle-school aged primer on all of Irish Celtic mythology, while being a romping great epic with a lot of fun along the way. I'd consider it a cultural gem, but I don't get to say that, not being Irish. ;)

...brilliant. I can do a Lazy Daisy stitch. That's brilliant. Might do that this afternoon, with the Dagda's name in stars on navy as well! <3

Just realised that the Morrigan's golden charm bracelet fits as well, especially if you can get a little castle/tower charm, and a (view spoiler) charm as well! XD

OH RIGHT! And a Peace rose - can buy the root stock! A good excuse to do a little more gardening. :)
