If you invited someone to your party and they didn't introduce themselves to you, the host or your guests, wouldn't you think they were extremely rude? Well the same applies here. Don't be rude and introduce yourself!

I like stories that are tied to history. I read a mystery series about a professor solving old cold cases by looking at it from an historical viewpoint and researching the "old school" way. Sarah Schafer is the author.

More info, I am from the Chicago suburbs area. I like to read some thrillers, action and historical as well as cozies and romance.
I read rather than watch TV. Only paper books not kindle.

Sorry, Late introducing myself. I love to read. I used to read a book a night. But now I care for Husband 24/7/365. He has a rare Kidney disease. I love all the debates and even though I haven't taken the time to comment, I have read everything.

I know everyone is gaga over their small children and grandchildren and want to put their pictures on Goodreads. However, Goodreads is like every social media and with little monitoring. Don't think sexual predators and perverts do not exist just because this is a book website. Plus the more information you reveal such as locations where you live etc makes you more vulnerable. Please use some common sense when posting your Homepage photos and information. It's a new world we live in today and not everything is like it use to be.

I think people are more introverted now days. They would rather hide in the shadows and read other members comments, but not interact themselves. I will eventually delete them from my groups.

I don’t think it’s a problem of being introverted, more like, at least for me, busy schedule and being overwhelmed by all that is happening!! I do read this thread and post when I feel strongly enough to respond to any given topic.

You can post your introduction under the topic introduce yourself. You do not have to send me a personal message.

Please let me explain how Goodreads works for members who are new. When you get a private message from me it is not just for you, but all members. Example: Have a Merry Christmas, this message would be sent to all members, not just one individual. When I send please Introduce yourself it’s for all members to read just not me. All members need to see your introduction, so they will know a little about you. Just introducing yourself to me by private message does not give the other members any information about you. I hope this explain how things work.
