Just read this book last night/ today and loved it!

Storm (Ashes & Embers) (Volume 1) by Carian Cole Storm (Ashes & Embers) by Carian Cole

Loved it - this is my review :)

I got this book last night after meeting the author on a Facebook site and started the book straight away! I could not put it down and read to 62%...

The main character, Evelyn, is SO funny and the response she gets from Storm is classic! I love her innocence and the fact he brings out the best in her.

This morning, I finished it immediately and was left satisfied... It all happens too fast in the end, but it works. A sweet love story. The erotica moments in it will keep those looking for a 18+ read happy, but essentially they are discovering each other. I loved the build up and once the relationship intensified a part of me was disappointed! I liked their foreplay!

Overall, a cracking read by a new author. I look forward to reading more of her books. I loved the humour ... Made it less serious than other books in this genre. So glad I found this :)

So... I watched "The Duff" and then read the book! Yep, I am SO immature!

My review - 5/5

"OMG... Loved this!

Since movies like "The Prince & I" and "The Cinderella Story" I have been hooked on teen tales. I think I will never grow up where these books are concerned.

Went to watch the movie yesterday, read the book last night & today.

This book had it all. Coming of age, teenage angst, divorce consequences, and of course the irresistible bad boy, who has a soft creamy centre.

If you love sassy, intelligent females and arrogant but irresistible bad boys this is the story for you.

Pride & Prejudice just got modern!"

The Hard Way (Jack Reacher, #10) by Lee Child By Lee Child

The Hard Way by Lee Child

This is written by one of my favourite Authors. I have 11th book by Lee Child and have enjoyed every one I read.

There is something to be said for the man who sells one book every 20 seconds somewhere in the world. As one of the leading Thriller writers he has won the CWA Diamond Dagger for a writer of an outstanding body of crime fiction.

In ‘The Hard Way’ we meet the leading character again, Jack Reacher, Ex Military Police and the most non existing man he can be. He has dropped off the radar, no job, no address, no money to speak of, he works when he needs to, for cash and every now and then he falls into helping people, people who find they cannot do what needs to be done themselves.

The book is narrated in the third person and we see Lee Child expand the Reacher character.

The books Theme is fear, retribution, and Love. Sisters are a recurring theme too.

The book is a Thriller and Lee Child books sit really well in this Genre.

‘A Guy unlocked a car door and got in and drove away, that was all’

Reacher just happens to be sitting outside a cafe as he sees the guy approach the car and get in, he does not really see anything to strange with this action until later, but as the story starts he is just sat in one of his favourite Cafes enjoying a cup of coffee. The next day he decides to go the same cafe as he enjoyed the coffee so much, and life for a few people will never be the same again.

Edward Lane is surrounded by men, men who he trusts to cover his back, whether in New York or Africa, of course he is paying them but he expects and receives their loyalty. Each one of the men working for him has come from the services; they are ex SAS, Green Berets, Special Forces and many other areas of the military from different countries. As Reacher returns to the Cafe for his second cup of Coffee one of Lane’s men called Gregory is looking for someone who saw what happened to a car on the previous day. Questioning people working in the cafe Reacher is pointed out to Granger and he goes over to speak to him.

Kate Lane, Edwards’s wife is missing, she has been kidnapped and even though Edward Lane has paid the ransom she has not been returned. Gregory is sent out to find out why, and if there was someone who saw the man get into the car the money was left in, drive away.

Reacher assures Gregory of what he saw and they are convinces that he has seen the kidnapper taking the money.

Edward asks Reacher to help him, the person who was with Kate was one of his people and it is possible the kidnappers will know all his men so they cannot go out looking for them as this will put Kate’s life at risk. Edward offer’s Reacher a lot of money to find out who the kidnappers are.

Patti Joseph has noted Reacher going in and out of the hotel the Edward Lane and his men are living in and has jotted down times and who with and passed the information on. Who is she and why is she watching.

I loved the book, there is a pace to the story that keeps you reading because you know that something is going to happen as soon as you put the book down, and so you carry on reading to see what it is. Wonderful picture is painted of the atmosphere of the Norfolk countryside. London is busy as is New York and as they fly around trying to stay one step ahead of the bad guys Reacher is a character you want to win, to pull the good guys out of the situation they get into, your cheering him on as he realises he has to save the innocent and shout at him as he goes wrong, not that that happens very often.

As the innocent rush into danger you want the reach in and stop them, you shout at them for being idiots.

Lee Child is really good and drawing you into the book, making you so attached to the characters that when you get to the end of the book you sigh and turn the next page just to make sure there is no more to read.

I gave this book 5* loved it would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read Thrillers.
