Sam gets abducted by Clarence Reese because he hid in the backseat of her car. If she hadn’t been distracted, do you think she would have at least checked the backseat before getting in? How do you think she handled the situation, Reese and her attempt to save his life?

Like the previous book, Sam's distraction affects her job performance. I hope this does not become a theme in the series.

That said, she handled the situation well and did everything she could as a police officer.

She was distracted, for sure. I'm not sure she would have made a check normally, but she handled the situation with full focus.

I agree Lauren, I can't remember why I stopped reading this series after the first couple of books. I hope her distraction isn't an ongoing series thread.

It is strange that a police officer didn't check her car. That is one of the first things police tell women at self defense classes. Police are taught in the academy to be aware of their surroundings.

She did handle the situation though.

I stopped because Sam was getting on my nerves a bit and I had another similar series going at the same time. So Sam got the ax! Lol!
