Can anyone suggest a good book about the history of Latin baseball? How it started, when each country formed pro leagues, etc. my Amazon and other searches produce a lot of biographies for individual Latin players and I'm not really interested in that.

I went to Google and typed in what you`re looking for, and while the pickings were a bit slim, there seemed to be some that might suffice, I didn`t even know that there was a Latin Baseball Hall of Fame. Scroll around there, it might be a startMike Linn
At the Barnes and Noble site, I found a few that are mainly about Cuba and the DR. Some are a bit pricey and some you can onky get used, but check this out to see if any interest you

Seems like there should be more than just a few that will interest someone from here. I saw a piece a while back on MLB, that both Cuba & the U.S. are working towards an agreement to open the lines for Cuban players to readily play in the states. Haven`t heard anything since, but that could be a huge source of untapped talent heading our wayMike Linn

Check out Amazon - less expensive for slightly used books.

Baseball fans there are pretty excited about the upcoming Tampa Bay vs. the Cuban national team.
