Hi everyone, I got a discount coupon for BookGoodies.com so I purchased a 1-week ad on their site, which placed my sci-fi novel (Branch Off, in case you're curious :-) ) on their homepage and in their daily newsletter.
If you ask me, the site looks... amateurish? The newsletter is even worse, as if they just throw submissions together in a hurry and send it out.
Results have been, to put it lightly, non-existent. I hoped to give the book a boost on the first days of availability, but it did not happen at all. I didn't expect much, but I wanted to hear from others. Do you have any experience with them?
My feeling is that these book listing sites have become irrelevant and worthless under all practical aspects, and maybe they're starting to do harm because there's a lot of very horrible stuff* that's included without any kind of selection.
*) That's a bit pretentious, I know, but I also know that my works are well above average in the self-publishing landscape.
I haven't heard of that one. Book Sends is all right, and from what I hear Bookbub is awesome. There's another I've heard is good but unfortunately I can't remember what it's called. Ereadernews? something like that. You might look into those for better results.
