Hi everyone!
I’m Nicole, originally from Arizona and currently living in Oklahoma. After a long hiatus, I recently rediscovered my love for reading and decided to start this group to keep the momentum going.
I noticed that popular book clubs are often overcrowded with people and discussions, making it difficult for me to participate and stay engaged. With this group, my goal is to create a smaller, close-knit book club where members share the same taste in genres. We will have monthly reads and simple, easy-to-participate challenges.
I want this group to be welcoming to both new and seasoned readers, while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable sharing their opinions, suggesting monthly reads and challenges, and participating in polls.
Since we are a small group, everyone's voice will be heard more clearly, and my hope is that we will read books together that the majority will enjoy.
Anyway, sorry for the lengthy message! Thank you for listening, and happy reading!

Hi! I'm Martina. I am 29 and I live in Florida and have always loved reading. I joined Bookstagram last year and that really helped me dive deep into reading passionately. I have never committed to a book club before, mostly because I read a ton of books and have never decided to take the time to discuss a selected book with my peers. I am excited to try giving it a shot.
I haven't decided on a reading goal yet for the new year but I am on track to finish this year at around 160 books.
Hello! I’m Alissa from New Jersey. My reading goal for 2024 will be 40 books (1 book to go this year to hit that!). Between working and volunteering, I don’t have a ton of time to read. I’m in a monthly book club, I will read those 12 books, at least one non fiction and one classic. All other books will be taken from my very long TBR list. I’m in my mid 40s so my newest motto is life is too short to read bad books.I don’t have a favorite genre although I’m not a huge fan of romance, I will read some sci fi and I’ve learned I’m too old to really get into y/a anymore.
Hi! I'm Kathleen, 30 years old, and I've always loved books. The Bartimaeus books by Jonathan Stroud have my whole heart. Love them so much.My favourite genre is a mix of fantasy with subplot romance, mystery and intrigue.
I'm trying to read two more books this year. We will see how that goes ;)
Hey guys. I'm Megan and I'm 22. I have two cats: one grey Siberian named Athena and a white domestic short hair named Cirila (after Cirilla from The Witcher!!). They are my children. 🩶 Also, I love metalcore music. 🤘🏻I've been in a reading funk for quite some time now. I'm a full time student studying forensic science and work part time. A lot of my free time consists of reading textbooks for my classes. Having to spend all that time reading and learning chipped away at wanting to read for my personal enjoyment, which I never realized how much it affected my mental health! I'm glad to say that I'm now actively trying to get back into reading stuff aside from my academics!! This is my first book club ever, so I'm excited to be a part of it.
My absolute favorite genres are fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. Anything that gives off DnD vibes or just seems extremely weird, and I'm in.
If anyone's looking for more friends on here, feel free to add me! :D
Hey everyone! I'm Mikaela, Im 30. I have two daughters who are 3 and 6 months, a dog and two cats. I'm originally from RI, but went to college, met my husband in Kansas so that's where I am now. I've been a pretty avid reader for the past 5 or so years. To the point that I'd read 3+ books a week (before kids). Now I try and read every night to still give myself me time. I've never been part of a book club but have always wanted to. Just was hard to find like minded readers who enjoy the same genres as myself. 30, but still enjoy YA and my absolute favorite is romantasy. I'm pretty open to all genres though as long as it gives me some good feels!
Hi! I'm Shelley. I grew up in Georgia, but I live in Michigan with my greyhound Merlin as of April. I'm super excited to have a place to talk about books with like-minded people! I only recently got back into fantasy after not reading it for 10 years. No idea why I stopped! I've been trying to catch up on all the popular stuff I missed out on!
Hi everyone! My name is Zoe and I'll be 21 in Feburary. I grew up in Pennsylvania, but I now live in Delaware. I work a full-time job for Athletico/Pivot Physical Therapy. I love doing Buddy reads and I'm excited to be apart of a group that will do monthly reads together!Favorite genres? Fantasy, Thriller, and Romance
Reading goals? 2024 goal is 40 books
Hobbies? Avid reader, love doing puzzles and diamond arts. I am a softball player as well
Hi everyone! My name is Arielle and I’m 23. I’m currently a full time student studying business, but I’m trying to get back into reading. I used to be an avid reader, but ever since graduating from high school, I have not read quite as much as I’d like to! My favorite genres are romance and fantasy, but I also love romantasy and rom coms as well. I can’t wait to see what fun books we all get to explore in 2024! :)
Morning all, I'm Kareena, 32 years old and am from New Zealand.2023 was a return to reading for me, I used the time to catch up on some of the popular novels of the sci-fi/fantasy landscape.
Next year I'm looking to tackle some of the big names (Sanderson, the rest of Red Rising series, Dune, Terry Pratchett). I'll set my goal at the 20-ish mark as opposed to the almost 40 I've managed to get through this year.
My hobbies are gaming - obsessed with Baldurs Gate 3 at the moment. Also weightlifting, cooking, gardening and walks outdoors.
Hi everyone! I'm Valencia. I'm originally from Guyana but I now live in South Florida. My favorite genres are romantasy, romance, and fantasy, but I try to read a few books out of my comfort zone every once in a while. I also have a low bar for DNFing a book because life is too short.
I've never been in a book club because I'm a mood reader, but I'm trying to be more social and I'm looking forward to discussing books with all of you.
I usually set a goal of 12 books per year to limit the pressure, and then if I complete more I consider that a bonus.
My current hobbies are reading and pilates.
hi i’m Lexi! i’m 18 and in my second year of college, majoring in psychology to become a neuroscientist! i’ve always loved reading for as long as i can remember. i usually read thrillers and sad books but i’ve recently started reading fantasy and dark romance and I’m loving it! i just started the ACOTAR series and i’m also in the middle of hunting adeline and in love with both! i’d love to make some new book friends to chat with!
Hi everyone! My name is Cassidy and I live in Northern California. I was an avid reader as a kid/teen and dropped off when I was in college. This past year I joined a local book club to meet some new friends in the area and it has really re-sparked my love for reading. I had a goal to read 15 books and am at 40 right now so I'm really proud of myself!I'm new to Goodreads but I've been using Storygraph for the past year to review books. I really love it, but it's missing the community aspect. I've also been trying to read more ARCs and a lot of authors and publishers are preferential towards goodreads activity. I'm open to all genres- but I really gravitate towards fiction (kissing and killing lol). Some of my favorite genres are fantasy, romance, and thrillers/mystery. One of my favorite reads of the year was the ACOTAR series.
Other than reading a little about me- I travel a lot for work (is it just me or can you read a lot faster on planes? 🤔) I love to travel (just spent my birthday in Italy this year!). I love animals (I have a cat and dog and even do petsitting as a side-hustle, the most unusual pet I've watched was a tarantula 😅). I also love music and going to live shows.
Happy to be here and nice to meet you all :)
Hello! My name is Nicki! I am a mental health therapist in the midwest, who found that reading has become my best decompressing from my work and busy schedule! I love dogs as you can see my baby girl in my profile picture (:
My favorite genre is Romantasy, and I am really intrigued at dabbling in sci-fi and dark romance books…. I used to be an avid romance reader, until I found out how captivating fantasy is when it’s tied into a romance.
I have never been a part of a bookclub, but I’ve always wanted to be… I’ve always wanted to have people to have discussions with about the books that I’m reading… i’m looking forward to reading new books and dabbling in stories outside of my comfort zone
I am excited to be here.🤍
Hi!! My name is Fiona. I am currently in college and on my way to becoming an X-ray tech! I love reading romance books and thrillers. I am starting to read some dark romance and fantasy books. I just finished A Court of Mist and Fury and I'm obsessed!! I rate any book that keeps me entertained a 5 lol Im easy to please!! Nice to meet everyone!
Hi everyone! My name’s Alejandro =) I’m 21 years old and I am currently majoring in Linguistics. I’m a Third Culture Kid (TCK), meaning that I grew up outside of the US before I turned 19, so I’ve lived in and have visited a ton of places, so I just like to say I’m from the planet Earth. (One day, I’ll meet an alien who thinks this is typical to say) I genuinely love reading a little bit of everything. Although I would also say that horror might be one of the biggest genres I read, most likely due to how one of the first book clubs I joined was horror based!
My reading goal this coming year is 150! I really hope this goal is feasible =,)
I also really love Doctor Who, song writing, rollerblading, baking, and learning new languages! I want to become an in-person/book translator in the future, so that’s why I love connecting with book communities!
It’s stellar to meet y’all and I’m excited to read with y’all in 2024!
Hi everyone! My name is Leah, I’m 34 years old and from Iowa. I have a 4 year old daughter and three dogs. I enjoy snowmobiling, hunting and taking the Jeep out in the summer. I am hoping to reach a goal of 100 books next year. I do a mix of audio books and physical books (majority physical).
My favorite genre is cozy fantasy, romantasy, and dystopian, but I do switch it up with just about anything occasionally.
Hi everyone! I’m Salma. I turn 22 next month and i'm from Indonesia, so english are my second language. I love reading since i was a child but only expanded to reading english book around 15. Currently i'm working as an architect, but hopefully in 2024 i’ll pursuing a masters abroad (pray for me ◡̈)I love reading romance, poetry, and classic. But nowadays, i start reading memoir and literature fiction. My reading goals this year are 125 books and I’m close to achieving it. But in 2024 maybe I’ll cut back to maybe 60 books(?) My hobbies are definitely reading and watching films, i can talk about both of it for hoursss
I always want to join a book club but i never know where to start and book club in my country is not a thing so it’s hard for me to find platform to talk about books. I only know goodreads in 2019 and start actively tracking my reads this year
So let’s be friends on goodreads!
Hello, I'm Eleanor. I joined GR a little over a year ago. I'm 16 years old, and I live in the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. My favorite genres are historical fiction, romance, and mystery, and my reading goal is around 45 books per year. (I don't have time for any more because I'm doing full time Cosmetology courses for a college while also in high school. I'm excited to meet new people---from all over the world---and discover new books through this book club.
Lexi wrote: "hi i’m Lexi! i’m 18 and in my second year of college, majoring in psychology to become a neuroscientist! i’ve always loved reading for as long as i can remember. i usually read thrillers and sad bo..."I just started the ACOTAR series, too!
Hello my name is Travis. I am a 33 year old male from Missouri. I work in investment operations and I have one Siamese cat named Patrick. I used to read in HS, but stopped to spend my time doing other things. I turned to reading just recently again in the fall to help cope with my mental struggles. My favorite part of reading is visualizing the world the authors created. My favorite genres are fantasy (not big on romantasy but if the plot is there I am game), historical fiction, mysteries (murder/whodunits), psychological or spy thrillers, and emotionally gripping romance novels. I am also going to try some science fiction in 2024. I don’t read a lot of non fiction, but maybe I should. That’s me! I look forward to seeing what books come up in the group. :)
Hi guys!! My name is Amina. I am 16 and I live in Kentucky. I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. My favorite genres are romance and fiction but I am totally open to trying any new genre recommendations. My goal for the year was 35 books (not including school-required books) and I did reach that goal. Hopefully, in 2024 I can read 45!
Hi, my name is Paige. I’m 34 years old, and I am from Louisiana. I’ve always loved to read, but my kids keep me busy, and it’s been pushed to the back burner for the past couple years. I realized that I needed to make time for some me time again, so now I’m reading at every practice my kids have and whenever I have a few free minutes. I love psychological thrillers, true crime, historical fiction, and romance.
Hi everyone! My name is Marcelina — a teen bookworm and writer. I live on the west coast, born and raised, and I’ve been reading ever since I can remember; it’s given me that form of escapism that I lack in my real life. My favorite genre is fantasy/romantasy, specifically books like ACOTAR, Shatter Me, Powerless, Six of Crows, and The Cruel Prince. If you also love any of these books, I’m always open to chat! I’m also currently in the process of writing my own YA Fantasy Romance novel, planned to release in the spring of 2024, so that’s taken up a lot of my time! (On that note, I’m looking for ARC readers right now…so if any of y’all are interested, please let me know <3)
Aside from books, I absolutely adore music! I consider myself somewhat of a Swiftie, and I additionally love Tate McRae, Paris Paloma, Lana Del Ray, and Chase Atlantic.
Hello everyone!! I’m Regina, born and raised in New York. I’m 59, married with three adult daughters. My love of reading started quite young. I was about 7 when I started reading my brother’s Hardy Boys books. They became a childhood favorite. I read The Hobbit when I was 15 and that started my literary journey into different genres. My favorite author is Stephen King. My interests besides reading are baking, traveling, and crocheting. My goal in 2024 is to get as many books off my TBR as possible! Always looking for friends so feel free to add me!! ♥️
Shelley wrote: "Hi! I'm Shelley. I grew up in Georgia, but I live in Michigan with my greyhound Merlin as of April. I'm super excited to have a place to talk about books with like-minded people! I only recently go..."I am also in Michigan! :) Big Rapids now but we're moving to Ludington within the next year or so
Hi, I am Cynthia but feel free to call me Boxer if you like. I'm in my 50s and have always enjoyed reading.
I'm looking forward to reading with you. I love gardens and dogs and cats and learning interesting things.

Hii everyone! My name is Angel. I’m 20 years old and in my third year of college, pursuing graphic design with dreams of becoming a book cover artist. A devoted animal lover with an adorable dog and two cats. While new to Goodreads, my love for reading has been a lifelong passion. It began with classics such as Pride and Prejudice, and while those classics remain special to me, I've recently delved into dark romance and fantasy books, becoming quite obsessed ever since. I'm finishing up the last few pages of The Fourth Wing and considering diving into the Acotar series really soon.I've never been in a book club, but I'm genuinely excited to be a part of one. I’d love to make new book friends and looking forward to know all of you. Feel free to add me and happy to be here!!
Hi. I'm Maggie. I'm from Tennessee. I'm 33. My favorite genre is Young Adult/Teen. I own enough books to have my own library. I'm always adding books to my TBR. My favorite TV show is The Golden Girls.
Hello everyone! Thank you so much for inviting me to join this group; I was thrilled to receive the invitation. After reading all of your introductions, I'm even more excited and looking forward to starting our first reading. My name is Silvia, I'm 31 years old, and I'm from Madrid, Spain. I lived in the UK for many years, so my brain speaks Spanglish most of the time. I'm a freelance graphic designer, and two of my favorite things in the world are reading and walking. I used to beat myself up a lot about this because these are two hobbies I started practicing after the pandemic to keep my anxiety in check. Before, I used to be a party girl, so loving such simple plans made me feel guilty. However, over time, I've come to accept this new version of myself that coexists with the one who occasionally wants to keep going out dancing all night
I enjoy reading consciously. I love imagining and recreating every word I read in my head, teleporting myself to that imaginary world in my hands. This year, I've made a wonderful group of friends in Madrid by posting an online ad looking for people for a book club; I never imagined meeting such wonderful people.
I hope to get to know all of you more and enjoy a good book together, even if it's from many kilometers away :)
Hello fellow book fiends and friends!I’m Crystal, a life long book lover. I’ve read continuously since I started, some years reading over 100 books, and some only 3. Reading has always brought me peace in a not so peaceful existence. This year I plan to read 52 books or more.
I’m looking forward to discussing all manner of book with you all!
Hi everyone! I’m Olivia, 27 from Long Island, NY. I was never really much of a reader until about 6 months ago when I read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I lovedddddd it. Since then I’ve gone on a journey finding what I’m into. I love romance, especially romantasy. I’m a slow reader, definitely not the kind who does a book a week. My 2024 goal is to read 15-20 books for the whole year but I’m not pushing myself for it, whatever happens, happens! I love iced oatmilk lattes and Taylor Swift. If you feel like we’re similar or you just want more friends to follow, feel free to add me!!! 💖
Hi everyone! My name is Wynter and I'm from Texas. I just recently got back into reading after a couple of years. My favorite genres are Romance and Thriller/Horror. My reading goal for 2024 is 30 books.I love to read, sing, watch TV and journal. This is my first book club/group and I'm super excited to meet new people!
Hi Everyone, I’m Elena! I’m from Maryland. I just started getting back into reading last year for the first time since high school! I started off reading ACOTAR and from there have started reading literally everything! Horror, thriller, fantasy, and mystery’s are my favorite genres. I’ve never been in a book club, but have often read books alongside my friends informally. I am really excited to get into a group like this!
Hello everyone! I am from Argentina, this year I spent time reading and I still need to know the different genres.I hope to meet good people and talk about books :)
i everyone! My name is Erica and I’m from Minnesota. I fell in love with ready again in 2023 after a long break away and I’m super excited to be a part of this group. I love finding time to dive in and get lost within a book world. It’s my safe space, my decompression time and just overall my favorite hobby. I tend to gravitate towards romantasy, dark romance, fantasy, and thrillers but I also enjoy sci-fi and horror. I can’t wait to keep moving through my never ending TBR list with a space to share my passion with like minded people.
hi im kal and im 22! :) my favorite genres are romance, horror, and suspense, but usually i’m open to reading almost anything!
i got back into reading early of last year, and took a big break between feb-nov because of school and other things, but im back and trying to keep up with it now 🫶
anyone can add me, i’m always open to new friends, and i’m pretty active!!
Hi everyone! My name is Jessica and I'm from Washington state, 20 years old and studying computer science in Pennsylvania. I used to read a lot as a kid and loved writing stories but fell off from it because of my studies.I don't have a favorite genre - any book with a lovable cast of characters will do it for me! If the characters hit me in the feels and make me laugh, it's a good book. I tend to gravitate towards memoirs, historical fiction, and adventure, but some of my favorite stories are in horror and fantasy.
This is my first book club and I'm excited to meet new people :)
Hi all. My name is Matt from the United Kingdom. I love fantasy but also enjoy thriller/crime/mystery. I am currently working my way through the Throne of Glass series. Feel free to add me as I love to see what others are reading :)
Hi Everyone, my name is Timi and I am from Hungary.I have just started reading again (well, a couple years ago actually), but I have just recently joined GR as I felt too lonely without having anyone to discuss my books with, haha. People around me do not generally read the books I do. I always wanted to try a bookclub kind of thing, but I already have in mind my next reads, but this is 2024 now so why not try it?!
My favourite genre is romantasy but I used to read a lot of psychology thrillers. However, I realised it is fantasy and romance that I enjoy the most. I started my fantasy reading journey with From Blood and Ash, following that with ACOTAR and I fall in love with these types of books pretty easily.
Feel free to add me as a friend as well as I am still pretty new here 🙂
Hello everyone, I'm Alistair. I don't talk much about myself, and I tend to watch from the sidelines, I'm doin my best to be more active, though.I like reading a good story, regardless of the genre; if the story is good, I'm in.
Also, I've recently published my first novel, it's going to be free on Smashwords probably for a month, should anyone feel inclined to check it out.
Hi, I’m Kayla. I am 23 years old and born raised and reside in Illinois. I am a mom of 3 plus lots of fur babies (kitties!🐱). I have always loved reading and actually started doing virtual book clubs as of last year! I’m excited and intrigued about how this one is particularly set up! Current hobbies and interests I indulge in: reading (OF COURSE📚), cooking (love trying new recipes out👩🏻🍳), singing (was in choir from middle school through highschool🎶), and my newfound love of going to the gym (started in November of 2022💪🏻).
Hi!! My name is Heather and I am 21 years old. I’m a senior at the University of Tennessee studying environmental science! I have lots of hobbies and reading is just one of them. I like gymnastics, running, hiking, video games, and crafts. I want to read more though, and my goal is 40 books for the year😊
Hi there! thank you for inviting me into this group. I'm Martina, 30, from an Italian island. I'm still studying in university, looking for a job. This year I've expanded my love for reading. I've always felt guilty reading a lot for myself but not for my studies, then I've finally realised that we all waste time doing 100 things, so why not enjoying a good read while you're at it? Against all odds I almost doubled my goal of 50 books this past year!
I love reading different things, but 80% of the time I just want to escape life, meaning I need a chill romance of some type. I love fantasy romance, historical romance, retelling romance... this year I've also discovered some dark romance and reverse harem *insert exploding head*
I admit "important life-changing books" are what I would ideally want to read more, but sometimes I don't want to think too much about life, so I limit the fiction and put the gas on the other-worldly stories.
I found a love for mangas in my mid-20s, also determined to tick off classics from my must-read list every other month.
Other things I like: floating on the sea, the sun, the rain, sipping tea, coffee, walking with nowhere to go, ice-cream, tv-series, yoga at home, languages, the sensation of finding a perfect reading spot.
I'm excited to be in a book club, it's a first for me! I entered different groups this year when I decided to be active on Goodreads, but they are mostly chaos.. that's why I've just taken part a couple of times at buddy reads (also: the mobile app doesn't help). Hope to be active in here and make good book talk with you all ❤️
Hello everyone, my name is Mack and I just got back into reading fiction a few months ago and have been devouring everything in site. I don't have many bookish friends so I wanted to join a group or two to engage with others. Just a bit about myself: I'm 32 and manage a professional kitchen in Portland, OR. I love to hike and travel, when I'm not reading or working on my degree in computer science. I have two cats and am a huge Harry Potter nerd.
I saw that this group is reading The Housemaid this month and I've had this on my shelf for a bit so excited to dive in.
I’m Selena and I’m from Australia! Currently studying forensic psychology so love a good thriller/mystery book. Also looooove romance and just getting into fantasy! Favourite fantasy book series: Shatter Me
Favourite thriller book series: AGGGTM
Hi y'all! I'm Jamie, 39, and I live in KY. Within the last year or 2 I have become more obsessed with reading. My husband and I only have one baby, she is in college so I have loads more time on my hands. I work from home and am mostly introverted ;) I want to specify I am a book HOARDER and reader...it's a problem sometimes lol. I have a never ending TBR that grows faster than I can read them. However, I have accepted my fate. Feel free to add me, I'm looking for more book friends, love to see what everyone is reading.
