Compare and contrast the figure of "Satan" or the fallen angel in Genesis with the Qur'an.

Lizette | 10 comments Compare and contrast the figure of "Satan" or the fallen angel in Genesis with the Qur'an.

Both of these religious text mentions Satan also known as the fallen angel according to the Bible. In the book of Genesis, it said, that the figure of Satan was a serpent God blame the serpent for misleading Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. As for the Quran said a different story. In the Quran said that Satan was considered a Jinn. Which were in a subordinate to angels, more like humans. Which Jinn had the ability to sin.

Kenia Cuellar | 29 comments In the Bible, God had given Satan a certain amount of power and authority. Lucifer wanted ti exalt himself above God, and did not want to be "just an angel". Just like Adam and Eve, lucifer was created will free will. He was the snake that tempted Eve and made her sin. In the Quran, angels are mentioned and it states that Satan was a jinni or an angel that cannot disobey God. He rebelled and that is why he was banished to Earth. In both, the bible and the Quran satan was created with free will and he chose to disobey God.
