JANUARY 2024 MINI CHALLENGES

RULES

** Books DO NOT all have to be mysteries. You can use any genres.

** A book can be used only once for this challenge, but can be used for other challenges (Seasonal, World Trip, Ultimate, etc.).

** You DO NOT have to choose books in advance, and can change your mind at any time if you do.

** Do as many as you are able and have fun!

This month I’m borrowing inspiration from the immortal Irving Berlin and Bing Crosby with “Let’s Start the New Year Right,” featured in the classic movie, HOLIDAY INN.

1. One minute to midnight/One minute to go
One minute to say goodbye/Before we say hello

Read a book with a time-related word (such as hour, minute, or clock) in the title.

2. Let's start the new year right/Twelve o'clock tonight
When they dim the light/Let's begin

Read a book with some sort of light on the cover (such as a candle or lamp) or that has “candle” or “light” in the title.

3. Kissing the old year out/Kissing the new year in
Read the first book in a series or an author’s debut novel.

4. Let's watch the old year die/With a fond goodbye
Read a book you meant to read in 2023.

5. And our hopes as high/As a kite
How can our love go wrong if/We start the new year right?

Read a book that involves a new start (e.g.: new job, new business, new town, new relationship).
