A question about the 'bed and breakfast' place . . . does it need to actually be CALLED a bed and breakfast? The book I'm reading right now ( A Winter by the Sea (On Devonshire Shores, #2) by Julie Klassen ) is about a family who runs a 'guest house' in 1819, which essentially functions as a type of bed and breakfast, though now that I think of it, bed and breakfasts are usually not for longer term stays (just for a few nights), and this one definitely takes in longer term guests?

A skate park is where skateboarders and BMX practice their skills. Vastly different than a state park.

However, I will accept state park for the national park category, as those are very similar.

Katrina Lybbert | 921 comments I didn't get as many as I hoped. Part of it was I kept forgetting to keep track, so I am sure there were more adventures in the books I read than I recorded.

Theme Park
The Ride of Her Life (Lake Manawa Summers, #3) by Lorna Seilstad (Mar 6/24)
Main character builds a rollercoaster for a theme park.

Wild West
Committing to the Cowgirl (Colorado Cowgirls, #1) by Jody Hedlund (Feb 5/24)
Set in Colorado in 1877... lots of cowboys and cowgirls.

National Park
Famous for a Living by Melissa Ferguson (Feb 12/24)
Much of the book took place in Kannery National Park Montana

Foreign City (Copenhagen)
The Sound of Light by Sarah Sundin (Jan 18/24)

Beach
Yesterday's Tides by Roseanna M. White (Jan 11/24)
In both timelines characters were in scenes on the beach near the Ocracoke Inn.
Without Warning (Elite Guardians, #2) by Lynette Eason (Mar 21/24)
I would say that an emergency landing of a plane on a beach was quite the adventure!

Garden
My Fair Gentleman by Nancy Campbell Allen (Jan 21/24)
An important scene takes place in a gazebo in a garden...

Coffee Shop
A Novel Proposal by Denise Hunter (Jan 13/24)
Sadie is at a coffee shop in the very first sentence in the book!

Kitchen
The Earl's Mistletoe Match (Belles of Christmas, #3) by Ashtyn Newbold (Jan 1/24)
They snuck away from the ball to play a game of Snapdragon in the kitchen.

Backyard
When the Day Comes (Timeless, #1) by Gabrielle Meyer (Jan 31/24)
Many scenes in the backyard of Libby's house. Libby and Henry meet there.

Trailer Park
Darby lives in a trailer park, and some of the story takes place there.
Riven by Jerry B. Jenkins

Ocean
The setting is a beach town on the ocean, and in the book Callie goes for early morning walks to the ocean, ends up connecting with someone there, and her time at the ocean becomes part of her healing process.
The Secret to Happiness (Cape Cod Creamery, #2) by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Cruise Ship
The RMS Carpathia was operating as a cruise ship at the time it aided in rescuing passengers from the Titanic.
A Brilliant Night of Stars and Ice by Rebecca Connolly

Lodge
The Burnt Pine Tree Hunting Lodge is a big piece of this story! It's where Matt was murdered, investigations take place, suspects hike, and other things key to the book happen.
Double Indemnity by Robert Whitlow

Cabin
The Well Spring Ranch is where "the three" are taken for their first training session, and the main location on the ranch where they gather and lodge is "the main cabin".

Coffee Shop
Marlene turns the old building into an ice cream shop in the summer and coffee shop that also sells baked goods in the winter.
The Sweet Life (Cape Cod Creamery #1) by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Movie Theater
There were several scenes at the movie theater, and the movie theater played a role in the overall story line. The key event that led to all others in this book happened while the sisters were in line at the movie theater, waiting to get their tickets.
The Penny by Joyce Meyer

One-Room Schoolhouse
There were a few scenes inside the one room schoolhouse. But a lot of the story focused on Coras efforts and work that surrounded what happened in the one room school houses that were spread across the Appalachian Mountains in Rowan County. Her focus and work she ended up being known for was her impact in eradicating literacy and that took place in the one room school houses.
The Moonlight School by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Several scenes happen in the kitchen of either Henry or his nieces home.
