I actually think they're better for 'older' people than for actual children. I wanna read other books by him too but don't know which since he mostly (or only?) writes books for children and I don't know if I would enjoy them so much.

I haven't read those ones. I remember loving his short stories a tonne. I'll have to go back and read some of his stuff.
I love John Saul, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Kate Morton, Diana Gabaldon, Gerald Durrell, Cassandra Clare, and Diane Setterfield are all authors I really enjoy reading.
I feel like no one mentioned Markus Zusak, who is obviously one of the most talented writers of our time (aaaand one of my personal faves), because THE BOOK THIEF. But his other books are often underrated; those are also pretty incredible.
My absolute favorite authors are Veronica Blade, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and R.L. Mathewson. Richelle Mead and Quinn Loftis are great too!
