In Farleigh Field is a historical fiction novel that takes place in England during WWII. It is about people that are not on the front lines but are fighting the Germans in their own way. When a body is found on the grounds of Farleigh Field, the estate of a country earl, it raises suspicions. The body seems to have been a parachuter whose parachute failed to open, but the army group whose uniform it was wearing are ground troops only. Could the dead body belong to a German spy? And if so, could there be someone working for the Germans in or near Farleigh Field?

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read that kept my interest. I enjoyed all of the characters and the overview of what it was like on the homefront during World War II. There were spies, codebreakers, aristocrats, and plenty of soldiers in the book. They mystery propelled the story, but it was not the focus as much as the stories of the many characters in the book. In fact, I pretty much figured out who was working with the Germans pretty early on, but it was a fun ride reading how the characters in the book got there. Over all, it was a pretty light (for a WWII novel) entertaining read that I enjoyed.
