This book made me laugh out loud and it is my favorite Tales of Habib the Hoaxter: Sometimes Hoaxed, Always Good for a Laugh
Typically, I tell people that my favorite book is "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" (really it's hard to pin down one favorite). I use this book because I think it's a book other people should try at least once.
My favourite book is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. Like many classical novels, it offers a good story, psychological study also, in the historical/societal context; so those aspects are not unique. What sets Anna Karenina apart from any other book ( in my opinion), is the exquisite quality of writing. Not a single word is missing or in the wrong place, the rhythm is perfect, so natural.. Very easy reading, effortless and a pleasure. If you could read the original ( in Russian language, that is)- so much the better.
They say Leo was never satisfied until ( at least!) draft number 20... all of us, modern writers, could perhaps take a note of that :)

Not a fan of the topic but surely appreciate Tolstoy's absolute mastery of the universe he created. War and Peace is equally as vast. Truly a superb artist. Few can write like he did.

I'll start! Harry Potter series. This was probably the first book that really got me into reading. I love that it compels the imagination to transport me to a different world, one of connection and possibility.
