I really want to know like in all honestly I absolutely hate Grim and as the book went on I ended up hating him even more but is it just me?? Also, yes, I am Team Oreo all the way (yes I called him Oreo that was honestly what I accidentally called him at first and now I still call him that).
Oro is clearly the choice because he's honest and sweet and caring and like everything and I know he would kill anyone just for Isla. But honestly I am going to be really mad if she ends up with Grim cause.... honestly he's kind of just ew for me.
(Also did anyone ever feel icked out by the 481 year age difference between Oro/Grim and Isla or just me?)
But that's my opinion and no one can change it otherwise.

team grim just cuz i'm such a simp for baddies but i can completely agree that oro would be better for isla *personality wise*

also i don't think the age difference is that bad. there's huge age differences in romances in other fantasy series (like lord of the rings when aragorn is 81 and arwen is 2901) i think that no one in this book is necessarily human (humans don't have magical powers, duh) so i don't think it matters quite as much, but idk.

Okok I guess it kind of was weird to me since this is the third fantasy book I've ever read and I'm not really used to it much :D

but as the book progressed and you know with all the help Oro gave her, and the golden rose scene, just made me swoon for him.
also, the fact that Grim just disappeared, for like, half the book and we only saw him in Isla's memories.

i know i completely agree but like---you can't deny *those scenes* were pretty good lol. the only reason i'm team grim is because of his personality let's be real. i think they are absolute crap compatibility-wise. also i'm more team grim because i think there are more team oros (obviously) and i want to even out the playing field. i agree, oro and isla would be a much better match.

for me it's less about oro and isla being a better match, i'm team oro because grim is too bad in my opinion

I’ve only read Lightlark so I don’t know if something in Nightbane will change my mind, but I think Grim is a better love interest and Oro is a better friend. Even if Lightlark said that Isla was in love with Oro at the end, I didn’t see that at any point before, it was just randomly announced. It seems to me that their relationship is not romantic, whereas it clearly is with Grim.

omg agreed although i must admit that oro treats isla better than grim so isla and grim's relationship would definitely be more toxic, although totally i felt like the relationship was very very last minute (although the author probably didn't plan it that way)

My type is defiantly Grim. So the first book I was hoping he was the villain. And I was disappointed when he was one was the love interest in the second book :) I think I like him better because he is more of a villain. And I love their backstory. They are both so moody but yeah....... Grim is my type.

Grim though I can see how he can be super horrible. It's just that Oro has like zero personality and I don't understand him like at all.

Honestly, I understand why people want Oro, he is better for Isla...but Isla isn't good for him. Shes better of with Grim, Grim will treat her the way she wants to be treated without ever knowing the pure love that Oro can provide for her as she'll be more drawn to Grim due to their shared history already. I do prefer Grim as it creates a better more disturbing story.

I am team Oro because he is what she needs... but I'm also not on team Isla. Like? I get you were in love with Grim once, but let's just ignore all the bad things because he was her first? I think Grim and Isla deserve each other and Oro deserves BETTER.

Honestly, I think Grim would be a better choice with Isla, I still think that Oro is sooo much better than him though, but all the things Isla did with Oro just feel... repeated from Grim and Isla's experiences before she got her memories wiped.
But the author might make it a reverse harem, which would be an interesting turn of events in my opinion.

If Isla chooses Grim, doesn't it feel cliché ??Like the "villian" gets the girl. I feel like we need a book where the fmc actually has some sense and chooses the one who gives her respect(ahem ahem oro) rather than being in a toxic relationship. Also the misunderstood villian is such an overused trope now. I'm not saying I don't like it. I started reading books cuz of this trope but I feel like if it's not done properly then it feels rushed and weird. Yk what I mean. But I liked the Isla and grim backstory. I feel like this is the only love triangle where I truly feel conflicted

Rationally I love Oro. But my toxic part of me always wanted Grim to come up on top. I was REALLY hoping to that she Isla agreed to have her memories wiped. But nope, which honestly makes me hate him more. BUT I also agree that Isla isn't good for Oro,
I just want Oro to be happy damnit.

Ok hear me out…but Grim and Isla 4 Life.
I feel like Oro was the rebound for Isla, like she couldn’t have Grim because he lied to her and shit. And Oro was what disappointed that he didn’t choose Lightlark over Isla, like Grim was willing to die for her. Grim would sacrifice everything if it meant that Isla was okay. And the fact that Isla was like conflicted on who to choose to kill, even after Grim lied to her says a lot. Also I feel like of Grim and Oro were switched and Oro was tied to Isla, Grim wouldn’t even think about it, he would drop the sword if it meant she was alive. Also this is probably really biased, I have a thing for red flags so…

like idk maybe its because personally the only blonde I will ever love is Aaron Warner and every other blonde just gives me the ick. And plus Oro honestly doesn't give good vibes to me and compared to Grim he is so damn plain! Like I don't understand how people can like him when Grim says so many things like I would start a war for you etc etc and meanwhile Oro has like nothing. Also in bed compared to Grim he has literally no rizz like Grim is SOO GOOD at sex compared to oro broo.

Okay I am Team ORO for sure!!! I think, a lot of what I read with Grim, was either just lust, more confusion for Isla, or toxicity. Like yes he is caring to an extent and would kill for Isla, but so would ORO. ORO is mature, and protective, and loving in a way Grim I don’t think can be. Isla needs growth and happiness and plainly put...sunshine. She has had enough darkness and not so good traits on her own. She needs growth that I think only ORO can provide. I just feel the love with ORO is more pure and real and built off of healthy standards versus what grim and Islas “love” was built off of. I have a feeling Alex may kill Isla and have her end up with no one.....which MAN i hope not. But I personally think ORO is a better choice and better for Isla. The golden sun king deserves his time over the shadow daddy ☀️😂😭❤️

Team Oro, typically I go for the dark and brooding but she never knew Oro before that and he truly makes her happy. Through out the books I was hoping to see Grim make more sense to be with but its Oro all the way.
