Selma Lagerlöf (1858-1940) was the first woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.

We will start our 2024 reading journey with one of her most acclaimed novels, a unique blend of historical fiction and fantasy elements, set in Southern Sweden between 1860 and 1870, "The Emperor of Portugallia".

We will discuss the novel and the author on January 25th, at 8PM CET, during our first video call.
Feel free to post your thoughts beforehand, replying to this post!

Looking forward to chatting with you!

Haven't started reading yet? This will help: go find selected free ebooks in our reading tracker (column P), including the first English translation of "The Emperor of Portugallia"!
