I really liked Johnny, even though he was behaving undercover. It still seemed this was his true personality. I liked them together.
They were both well liked characters. The romance part wasn't your typical meeting considering the circumstances. It did move quite fast. I found Johnny cute when he kept asking to be her boyfriend, even though part of that was for his undercover job to stay close and protect her. There wasn't anything in particular that would make their romance or their status as a top couple for me.
Their relationship was the biggest problem for me. Johnny's avoidance of questions got old real fast. Without basic trust, I don't think Sage should have gone to bed with him. He could have told her he was her bodyguard and some personal information without revealing his boss was Lucy.
Dawn, you nailed this one, imho.I liked Johnny, felt his true self was exposed in this book, but something didn't work to knit plot holes shut.
I loved Johnny. He was truly between a rock (Lucy) and a hard place (Sage). He couldn't win and he was smart enough to know that the animosity that Sage had for Lucy would doom any relationship he could ever have with Sage. I loved the "boyfriend" thing too. How any relationship develops to love without truthfulness, trust and honesty is hard to believe, but that's why they call it fiction.
