Renata Drummond (23drummond) | 30 comments This was my first Jane Austen book! I've always considered myself too much of a cynical in love to enjoy any Jane Austen book, man how I was wrong.

It's been a long time since a book captured my attention so much. I could see so much of myself in the main character (that might not be a great thing, since I've read Emma might be the least likeable of Austen's heroines) and you really can't help falling in love with Mr. Knightley.

Just like when I read Jane Eyre, I was surprised by the critcism hidden away in the book, I thought it so out of place for a book written in the 1800s that it has made me love it more.

Veronica (ronireads13) | 70 comments I'm starting this soon. I didn't know that the movie Clueless (one of my faves) was based in this book until a couple years ago. I'm really excited to read this one.

Silvia Turcios | 304 comments I know! When I watched Clueless I was "but this is Emma! ", but I couldn't find any reference to the book in the credits... I have to check again :)

Daisyspice | 4 comments Excellent choice of book. I love all of Austen's works and Mr.Knightley is just wonderful. And Clueless' modernization of it is perfection.

Francesca | 391 comments I honestly knew nothing about this book until I found out that Clueless was based off of it and that made me want to read it. I know, terrible that that is the main reason I want to read the book but that's the way it turned out! Haha! Plus I don't mind admitting it because Clueless is a great movie!

Veronica (ronireads13) | 70 comments Just finished this. I rely enjoyed the book and like Emma although she was a bit vain and meddlesome. I hated Mrs. Elton though and her shininess.

Renata Drummond (23drummond) | 30 comments One of the reasons I loved Emma was because she was vain and meddlesome. She was flawed. Unlike so many heroines we see out there. I don't know, I made a huge connection to her.

Veronica (ronireads13) | 70 comments Sorry if I came off as not liking Emma as a character. I thought she was wonderful but flawed. I was just commenting that she was vain. Clueless was a great adaptation of this book and I could relate the movie scenes to the book as I read it.
