I love that place! I have some friends that volunteer there. It has such a great atmosphere and a good selection.
I was recently on an author panel at Open Books, put together by the Chicago Nerd Social Club and Just Write Chicago. Great event. Thanks to Open Books for hosting it!


Hi Everyone-
I just wanted to put a bookstore opening on everyone's radar! Open Books, an organization in Chicago that does literacy and creative writing programs in Chicago public schools, is opening a used bookstore! The organization has received TONS (literally) of donated books from people over the past three years, and now it is opening a used bookstore to help fund its literacy programs. The grand opening is the weekend of Nov. 21st and 22nd, and a lot of local authors will be in attendance. Once the schedule is finalized, I'll put a link up to it. The store will be off the Chicago brown line stop, at 213 W. Institute Pl. It's a really great way to support literacy while also getting great books at low prices :-)
