Is it worth it?

I have reached the much dreaded point in the Throne of Glass series, also known as Tower of Dawn. I don’t like Chaol at all, so my problem becomes how am going to get through 688 pages?!! My question is: How is the book? Am I going to be dragging along for a month trying to read this thing or would I be better off getting the audiobook? I’ve thought of the tandem read, but it’s so intimidating. Any advice?

NO. I abandoned it halfway through, skipped to the last chapter and moved on to the final book in the series. I am glad I did. Perhaps, when I am finished, I will go back and read the last half of this book, but in the mean time, I don't recommend it to anyone.

I have been reading it in tandem with KOA, the last book, and can tell you that the only time it has added to the entire story is in Chapter 50. And I like Sartaq and Nesryn’s story. I honestly don’t like either Chaol or Yrene. AT ALL. So, I started skipping through their story, skimming pages to see if anything adds to the plot.

Yes!!! I absolutely loved this book and all the characters in it (even chaol). I actually thought the tandem read was so fun, so I recommend that too.

Tower of Dawn is worth it. I skipped it initially because I didn't do the tandem read(which was a bad idea) because Aelin was suffering, and I couldn't leave her there. I tried reading the first 10 chapters, but then had to put it down. After finishing the rest of the series, I picked it back up and zoomed through it, it was amazing. Definitely worth it, there are new couples and it explains a lot of things that happen in Kingdom of Ash.

Definitely worth. It was such a good book.

It is definitely worth it. It was a little slow to get into at first, but when it gets good, it gets good!

i absolutely loved Chaol s character and how it developed. he obviously needed his own book. BUT the character i thought had no opinion and would go with any man was Nasryn. i mean, she is the worst character in this series. so boring! i skipped most of the chapter she was in. overall i think the universe was beautiful with very boring supporting characters.

I mean, its worth it for the last book but it does yap a lot

I was hesitant to start this book too because I didn't really like Chaol or Nesryn, and I was not doing the tandem read. I was scared it was going to be boring, but I was very wrong. I actually really loved this book in the end. Chaol's character arc and development changed my mind on him, and I've grown to love Nesryn, Yrene, and Sartaq. There are a bunch of twists and turns throughout the book and revelations that had me intrigued to keep reading.

Unfortunately yes because it's characters are important to the last book but the book is boring AF it's all about chaol trying to waggle his toes and drowning in self pity while every other character is fighting for it's live
But here is a tip DO NOT read it alone because you would definitely enter a reading slump it would be better if you did the tandem read

I honestly really liked this book! I ended up skipping Assassin's Blade because I just could not get into it so I was a bit worried about this one. I did the tandem read with Empire of Storms and by the end I was more into Tower of Dawn than EOS. Both were great and if you can, I recommend the tandem. It kept things interesting. But this will introduce a whole new set of characters and is a really great branching of the storyline. Loved it!

You need to read it, it does have important things you need to know! The first 400 pages were (to me) a slog but the last 250 FLEW BY they were so good. Push through :)

It starts off boring, but Nesryn and Saratq make it worth it.

The new world and characters are great. I love Yrene. I love Sartaq. I'm feeling good that I have read it. I'd recommend you to read it too.

This was such a nice part in the series!!! The new continent brings so much freshness to the series and YRENE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do it for her. Read it for Chaol's character development. Read it for Hasar and Borte!!! It honestly was so good and I hated Chaol for a hot freaking minute. By the time you finish you hopefully will be glad you read it!

I LOVED this book. I didn't really want to read it as I was a bit burned out in the series by then, but the people in the southern continent area amazing and its a whole new world and I highly recommend it. (plus there is a lot of good info that will confuse you later if you skip it. it is part of the series)

I had the same fear when I went into reading Tower of Dawn, but it surprisingly wasn't as bad as everyone made it seem. They introduce a ton of new characters that are relevant in Kingdom of Ash so I definitely would not advise skipping it all together. I didn't enjoy the audio book because apparently I was pronouncing all of the characters names wrong in my head lol All in all i would give it a 3/5. Nesryn gets a lot more screen time in this one and her story develops really well.

This part of the series is so intermediating. I know it’s worth it because I’ve heard amazing things about it, but I still hesitate to take it on. Did anyone do the tandem read? Any tips on that?
