Rinstinkt (rnstnkt) | 22 comments Great choice!
I already wanted to read "Under Satan's Sun" (which was mentioned in The Prince of Darkness: Radical Evil and the Power of Good in History by J.B.R.) from the same author, but this will do. It looks like this is the most popular, according to the nr of ratings it has on this site.

And now back to our November January BOTM: Benedict XVI: Defender of the Faith

:)

Mariangel | 752 comments I found the first half of this book hard to get into, but once you get to the second half, it becomes hard to put down.

Many other reviews say the same thing, but those who finished it loved it. So for those of you in the club who are planning to read it, keep going even if the beginning is slow!

Manny (virmarl) | 41 comments I may actually join you for this one. I've been wanting to read Diary of a Country Priest for a while now. Hopefully I can juggle all I'm currently reading,. When do you start?

SUSAN | 87 comments The great French director Robert Bresson made a movie based on Diary. Here's what Wikipedia reports, "The film was lauded for Laydu's performance, which has been called one of the greatest in the history of cinema, and won numerous awards, including the Grand Prize at the Venice International Film Festival and the Prix Louis Delluc." I subscribed to Criterion Channel just to see this, and the other Bresson movies. (Under the Sun of Satan was in their collection, by a different director) Honestly, I saw the movie before I read the book. Would I recommend that order? I can't say, but I would recommend both the book and the film!
