Raven went home after a long day of work and took a shower. She turned on the hot water and gladly let it hit her skin. Raven turned it off after she was done, and dried herself off with a fluffy white cotton towel. Then she remember that she had asked Kane to come visit her. Her face reddened as she quickly made to get dressed and have dry hair. Raven put on a little black dress and quickly dried her hair. She put on simple makeup and smiled.

Raven gracefully walked downstairs and to her door. She took a deep breath and opened the door. It was Kane standing there, looking as handsome as ever. Raven blushed at the thought, and said, "Come on in! I'm glad you came..." She bit her lip, nervous.

"So..." Raven said, unsure of what to say. She twirled slightly in her dress, feeling slightly awkward. Raven felt like she could just step towards him and kiss him, but at the same time she knew that was wrong. He was his friend's brother! But at the same time... If he was her mate, there was nothing she could do about that. But Raven stayed quiet, wanting to know if he felt the same way about her but afraid to hear the answer.

Raven's green eyes probed Kane's blue ones, for a moment. She felt her breath get caught in her throat as she realized that he was conflicted just as she was. Letting out the air trapped in her lungs, Raven reached up on her tip toes and gently let her lips touch Kane's. Her right hand reached up and gingerly touched his cheek as she kissed him.

Raven wrapped her right arm around Kane's neck, and her left one followed suit. She bit her lip and blushed, but couldn't help but stare at Kane's lips. Raven took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She let out a soft laugh, feeling awkward. They were so close to each other, but Raven was still unsure whether it was okay or not. "I'm not sure how to feel... What to do... I... Uh... Sorry..." she muttered, mostly incoherent.

Raven closed her eyes, gathering her thoughts for a moment. When she opened them, the green shown brilliantly and sparkling. Raven bit her lip, hesitating. "The truth?" she whispered. "I feel so much right now... I want to kiss you again... Let you take advantage of me... Go all the way... Stay here with you forever, just in your arms... And that everything is perfect and none of my fears matter..." Raven closed her eyes, afraid to know what Kane's reaction would be.

Raven blushed scarlet and slowly pulled back from him. "So... You feel the same way?" she whispered softly. Raven was not used to people liking her, and was slightly frightened that she just opened her soul up to Kane and all he said was that he was glad. Raven could feel the hair on the back of her neck rise, the tension in her body heightening.

"I haven't a single clue." Raven said, shivering slightly. "What do you think, old man?" she inquired, teasing him. Raven wrapped her arms around Kane's neck again, softly kissing his nose, then jawline. "I'm up for almost anything..." she added in a soft whisper, closing her eyes and letting a hint of a smile run across her face.

"It depends what you mean by special..." Raven said, tilting her head so he could kiss her neck better. "Special can mean many things... So what do you mean?" she whispered, rubbing her thumb on his cheekbone. "Depending on what you mean... I can help you with that..." Raven bit her lip.

"No, we don't need to go anywhere..." Raven whispered. She went on her tipy toes again and kissed him softly. Raven leaned against him, feeling his warmth. She breathed in his scent, her eyes closed. "I need you Kane..." Raven muttered, feeling exposed and even awkward. "I need you..." She had a strong desire to pull him upstairs and into her room and lock the door behind them, but Raven swayed and staid put.

Raven bit her lip and smiled. "I would love you to stay..." She closed her eyes for a moment, reining in her self control. It had scattered like mad, shredded to pieces by her wolf. At the thought, Raven let out a whine. Her green eyes flicked open and she muttered, "Sorry... It's just... My wolf..." Raven blushed, her eyes looking down and away from Kane.

"I'm not sure..." Raven said, still refusing to look at him. Eventually, her eyes wandered to how close together they were and how happy she was. Raven felt butterflies in her stomach and her lips twitched. She pulled herself closer to Kane, their bodies practically intertwined. Raven blushed scarlet as she tilted her head up and kissed him again.

"The bond?" Raven whispered, slightly confused. Then her face paled, quickly to turn red. "Oh, that bond..." she muttered softly. Raven felt her heart race, and heard her pulse in her ears. "I-I-I... I uh..." Raven started panicking. She pulled her self away from Kane and tripped over her carpet, falling. She cursed, looking at her broken wrist. "I'm sorry... It's just... I thought... And now I know... And... It's all so fast... But I... I... Uh..." Raven said, starting to cry.

Kane shook his head and pulled her into a hug."Just pretend I didn't say anything," he kissed her head. "Only when your to will anything like that happen." He sat on the floor trying to reassure her since he was born a werewolf. " sorry to have said anything, Raven, he whispered sadly.

Raven curled up onto his lap, careful with her skirt. She leaned against him, listening to his heart beat. It was much more steady than hers, and soon her own pulse matched his. Raven had stopped crying and her breathing stopped being ragged. She held on to his jacket and whispered, "No, it's not your fault... It's mine... I just don't want to be reminded of what went on in New York. That place is Hell. No joke." Raven laughed slightly, adding, "The rats were terrible, but so were the people."

Kane sighed and kissed her head with a small smile. "You were living in the wrong era then." He had to say the forties in New York was gentleman like even with the gangs. "You would of seen the difference because even men in gangs had gentleman traits." He brushed her hair from her face rocking back and forth.

Raven closed her eyes and shivered. "Maybe so, but that's not exactly something I can change, now is it?" she muttered, a small smile flickering on her face. "But now that I'm here with you... Maybe things will be different. I mean, you're definitely what I would consider a gentleman." Raven's eyes fluttered open, pensively looking at Kane's face. Biting her lip, her hand made a fist that was still holding his jacket. "You've only ever been nice to me... Treating me better than any other guy has before..." she added softly, closing her eyes again.

"I wouldn't chacoe one thing about you, not eveneven if it meant you were perfect." Kane smiled and brought his hand to cup her cheek. "You've seen Ryne and he's that same way on how to treat a woman," he knew it was surprising that his own brother covered in tattoos that was mean looking knew how to make a girl feel special.

Raven blushed again, and spoke up. "Yeah, but he's not you. I mean, you guys are a lot alike and everything... But still." With her free hand, she gently touched his cheek. It was warm in her cold hand. Raven closed her eyes and smiled, thinking how she could stay right there like that with Kane forever.

Kane nodded and kissed her head softly. "I know and I'd be jealous of him if he was me," he joked slightly. It was true that he be jealous of his brother if Ryne was him. "Anyways, Raven I just want you to be happy and I'd wait til death for you," he wrapped his hand over her fist soothingly.

Raven slowly relaxed in Kane's arms, her breathing slowing. She was careful not to think about things that could trigger a panic attack. So, she stayed calm. Taking a deep breath, Raven whispered, "Would you like to go upstairs? To my room...?" She knew that her emotions and hormones would get even more out of hand if she didn't complete the bond with Kane, but she also knew that she needed to do everything on her own terms. Slow and steady wins the race...

Kane looked at her with concern noticeable in his eyes. "Are you sure you want me in your room?" he asked as his voice was full of concern as well. He wasn't going to push her into a decision but all he want was to be close to her. "I just want you to be yourself," he kissed her cheek.

"Mmmh..." Raven said, closing her eyes. A giggle escaped her lips, and then another. Raven crawled out of Kane's lap and stood up, brushing of her skirt. "I'm sure," she whispered before darting upstairs. Raven closed the door to her room, trying to contain her giggles. She knew she was acting childish, but she didn't care. Sitting down in front of her door, Raven took deep breaths to calm herself down. She didn't want to have a panic attack, but would if her breathing kept being crazy.

Kane watched her with a smiled on his face before getting up. If the house was quiet anyone inside would hear his boots hitting the floor as he walked. "Raven?" he called out like in hide and seek. His tone was playful and happy but it seemed so out of place for the intimidating man and the year of hard work he's done along with the scars he had.

Raven's giggles echoed down the hallway. She covered her mouth with her hand, then moved to hide in her closet. There, more giggles escaped her, but she couldn't help it. Raven had never had this much fun... Well, in a very very long time. Since before being a werewolf. Before having eating problems. So basically, only when she was very little.

Kane listened to her faint giggles that reach his ears. A smile spread across his face as he walked closer to her room. He was born a werewolf but with a mother both the twins had been seen as devious children. "I'm going to find you, my precious Raven," he whispered enough for her to hear him. Personally Kane liked this because it was animal instinct to him to find her.

Raven stopped giggling and slowed her breathing. It wasn't too odd for her to fall prey, but infinitely more so when she wanted to be prey. Raven could feel her wolf instincts wanting to run out and attack, using the element of surprise, but Raven contained herself. She stayed still, her breathing quiet.

Kane smiles to himself and opened her door entering softly. "I can hear you. Your quiet breathing," he stopped and looked around the room. He could feel the beast inside him wanting to find her and make her give into them but Kane was a better gentleman then that. He looked over to her closet door still unmoving just waiting for her reaction.

Raven held her breath. She could tell that he was right outside of her closet. The hair on the back of her neck stood up, and she got timid and couldn't move. As she softly exhaled-which she knew Kane would hear-she opened the closet door just to see his face. Going on her tip toes, she brushed Kane's lips with hers just lightly enough to leave him wanting another.

Kane smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist."Are you scared of me?" he asked since she left him all of a suddenly downstairs. Hr wouldn't be surprised if she was but he would let her know he wouldn't hurt her, he just didn't have the heart for that.

Raven wrapped her arms around Kane's neck and frowned at his question. Deciding to speak nothing but the truth and the whole truth, she admitted, "A little, yes..." Raven flushed scarlet and looked down, adding in a murmur, "but then again, I'm scared of almost everyone since I was turned. Afraid that they might hurt me... Or that I might hurt them. I don't want to hurt you, Kane..."
