since february has valentines day, i was wondering if we should read classics with themes of romance and tragedy? how about "Tender is the Night"?
Or if we’re doing a Valentine’s theme, then maybe Romeo and Juliet or Gone with the Wind though I might start the brothers Karamazov so I am not ready for those two chunky babies at the same time 😂
the valentine's theme is a great idea! and also, like last time, please second any suggestions you agree with so we can narrow it down to just a few options for the poll
ohh, i haven't read Tender is the Night yet! I think it's a good choice so i second that idea. Gone with the Wind is a great one too
Here are my suggestions:The Tenant of Wildfell Hall
Agnes Grey
The Professor
The Return of the Native
Under The Greenwood Tree
White Nights
And I second Tender is the Night 😁

I second the professor and tender is the night
i have another suggestion, it's a short read by dostoevesky called "White Nights" — fits perfectly for valentines day
someone on yt said that they didn't "know" love until this book so i REALLY wanna know which drug he put in there
I suggest "Sense and sensibility", "The darling" or "Anne karenina" if we are going for some kind of romance :)
rina.reads wrote: "The Darling was written by whom? Never heard of the title before 😁"It was written by Anton Chekhov ! It is not really romance though i believe, but a story about a woman that needs love and affection to survive.

sounds really good! coincidentally I've read my first three short stories by Chekhov this month and really enjoyed them, I want to read more of his works.
