• I’m in Northern Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
• My go to is usually fantasy & its sub-genres. But I honestly enjoy a fairly wide variety of genres, and there’s not much I won’t read. Having said that, I generally don’t tend to enjoy contemporary fiction (with a few exceptions), and I have zero interest in nonfiction.
• Pretty sure I found this group at the end of 2022 when I was searching Google for reading challenges to participate in the following year. I enjoyed it so much last year that I decided to participate again this year. Honestly I’ll probably participate for however long this group keeps setting them up.
• My reading goal this year is 80 books, but I’m not proud, I’ll adjust it if it seems like I won’t be able to reach it. And of course my goal is also to read as many books as I can that fit the prompts each month (not just one each).
• I’m active on here, and always open to friend requests. I’m also active on Instagram, but my account is a mishmash of everything - thus my IG handle: @everythingjenniferdoes

- I'm in Mandeville,Louisiana
- I'm a huge fan of psychological thrillers, mysteries, and suspense fiction. I've never really been a fan of romance or non-fiction.
- I found this group on Pinterest going through book videos and looking for a reading challenge at the end of 2023. I enjoy the keyword and motif challenge and plan to continue my participation.
- My reading goal for 2024 is 52 books. I'm hoping to exceed the goal I've set before the end of the year. I want to read from other genres I'm not too familiar with and have really given a chance to. I've also set a goal to reading as many keyword books and books that meet the motif challenge as I can each month.
- I'm only on here and Likewise as far as posting about books, not really too fond of social media platforms.

- I’m from Houston, TX
- I love to read thrillers, detective stories, and anything that is a great story.
- I don’t recall I found this group. But it was sometime after I joined Goodreads.
- My reading goal for 2024 is 50 books. I have not read in quite a few years. So, this is an aggressive goal.
- I also use StoryGraph to post about books. I keep a wishlist in my Barnes and Noble app for books I plan on buying.

I'm from Granada Hills, CA, originally from Belize.
I love to read historical fiction, paranormal mysteries, psychological thrillers, private eye/police mysteries and some memoirs.
I started the monthly word goals 2 yrs ago from someone who posted the list on facebook. Then last year someone mentioned there was a goodreads group on the list and I joined sometime last year.
I keep lowering my goals to one a day but thanks to good reads and audiobooks I keep surpassing this goal and almost doubling that goal.

- I’m Olivia and I’m from New York🗽
- I mostly read romances (ESPECIALLY contemporary enemies to lovers😈), however I do love to branch out into other genres like horror and other sub-genres of fiction. Once in a blue moon, I’ll try non-fiction, but only if it’s about crime or music. I’m always looking for new recs if you got ‘em!
- I found this group this past December when my buddy Samantha and I were looking for reading challenges to get us to read more. We ended up falling in love with the key word challenge, being able to have a variety to choose from, as well as knocking some books off our TBR lists
- My reading goal was originally 24 as I’m doing this group’s 2024 key word monthly challenge, as well as Marin Johnson’s 2024 TBR monthly reading challenge. But I thought I should challenge myself more after I breezed through both of January’s books, so it’s now 50
- I’m pretty much always on here, updating my reading progress, as well as looking for more books. I always love making new friends and am open to friend requests😁
Hi all!
My name is Kimberly (she/her) and I'm one of the mods of this group. I'm from Northern Utah and have lived there all my life. I'm married and have two young boys. I am a professor of Library and Information Science by day and a book junkie by night!
My favorite genres include Speculative, Thrillers, and Mysteries but I read a little bit of everything include Romance, Middle Grade, Graphic Novels, and Non Fiction.
Tanya and I run a blog that used to be known as Girlxoxo. We have since moved to ChapterAdventure.com . You can find me on Instagram @chapter_adventure

I'm from Boise, Idaho
I love fantasy, romance, thriller, and some historical fiction. Mostly, I just like getting sucked into a good story.
I found this group while looking for a fun new reading challenge for 2023 and have really enjoyed seeing all the reviews and adding books to my tbr.
excited to see what new books 2024 will bring my way.

I do not read as many books as I should, so I want to start the year off strong. I do enjoy reading non fiction books but am going to try to read a variety this year.
I was brought to this group by my mom and sister in law to do a reading challenge monthly and wanted to give it a go.
My reading goal is at very minimum one book a month. I want to be able to read a variety of books and find an author that I enjoy.

- I'm located in northeastern Germany.
- My go-to genres are always Romance and Thrillers, but I also dabble in SciFi, Fantasy, Historical Fiction and the occasional Non-Fiction. I hardly ever pick up Horror, though...
- I think I found your group via a search engine, looking for ways to challenge my reading year. I want to break free of my run-of-the-mill routines and expand more, finding books I would not have found otherwise.
- I'm one of those people who would rather overachieve a goal than not to reach it, so I set a low bar of 50 books. My reading goals in detail can be found here.
- I do have Insta, but that focuses on my second favorite hobby, photography. Book-wise I'm only here, but very happy to be here!

I'm the same way. I'll read contemporary fiction sometimes but it's not usually my favorite.

I use Storygraph as well. The challenges are on there too if you want to track your progress there.

I know a lot of people don't like enemies to lovers but it's probably my favorite romance trope.

I am from Italy, this is why sometimes I have some problems with English language :-D
I prefer fiction books, but also cozy mysteries and fantasy. I like range between genres. I don't like horror, fantascience and biography.
I found this group because I follow your reading challenges on your blog (I started to join monthly motif and monthly keyword in 2014 :-D )
My reading goal is 60, but usually I read more books than that.

Cecil here, from Central Minnesota. I’m retired, so finding more time to actually get some serious reading done, but truthfully most reading is done later at night. (When it’s quieter, no TV!) Being a night owl anyway, that suits me fine.
I tend to gravitate to crime, suspense, mystery, thriller, sometimes horror, but do enjoy diversions into historical fiction, fantasy, humor and current fiction. My book club helps me expand my horizons, can’t seem to convince them to read mysteries all the time. ;)
Not a fan of romance, or getting bogged down in epic tomes. Trying to get more classics read, working at adding them in as well. (That could be a motif challenge, hint hint!)
I think I found the group on Instagram, when there were posts on the RIP challenge in the fall, and followed back to the other challenges on Goodreads. I have spent entire evenings going through my book list planning for the year, but this year taking it a month at time. Determined to stick to physical books on my own shelf, instead of ebooks on my Kindle and Nook apps. Need more room on my shelves!
Found that I do enjoy writing reviews. Not sure if anyone reads them, but I’m very careful not to include spoilers, and I don’t try to rewrite the summary either, that’s not the point, in my opinion. Unless a book is really bad, I’m usually pretty generous with stars. Not a writer myself, I’d rather encourage than criticize.
Mostly planning on 40 books this year, fell short of my goal of 50 last year, so maybe I can pass that up.
Need to say that using Goodreads to keep track of my books whether owned, read, or want to read, helps me tremendously! I can track which ones are on my apps or physical books, sort by type, and track which books I already have in series I read, so I don’t pick up ones I already own. (Yes, I’ve done that a few times. :\ ) Plus the summaries are much better than other sources, and reviews help me decide if it’s worth the effort. I just wish some people were a little kinder in their reviews. You don’t have to enjoy a book completely to at least be fair. We’ve all had some “DNF” come across our bookshelves, but most of us don’t really qualify as a true literary critic. Don’t be cruel to make yourself look smart. ‘Nuff said.
Hi All! I loved reading everyone's introductions and I sent friend requests to you all - I love having more bookish freinds! I'm Tanya Patrice, co-founder of this group with Kimberly.
My favorite books are genre fiction - horror, psychological thrillers, mysteries, sometimes historical fiction, sometimes romance and a little bit of contemporary fiction thrown in. I mostly listen to audiobooks as I travel a lot for work. Most of the books I get from my library app (Cloud Library), but I am building a small library with my absolute favorite books.
Planning books to read for me is just as much fun as reading them!
